Seems like a plausible theory. Who knows, somebody might attempt to hack this website and its users because of its controversial contents. It's a perfect target for cyber attacks.

That's... not how that works. The only people I see hacking a forum in today's age are shitposter types who have an ideological axe to grind, ala 4Chan types. There's no real money to be made here, and hackers tend to focus on targets that can earn them something.

Hi everyone on here, I just wanted to say God is real. I truly do believe this although I have been with a lot of great trials. I believe there is only one to God, it's through Jesus. I have had spiritual experience that have confirmed to be that there is a spiritual realm since I had past involvement in the new age (which I regret and brought a lot of oppression and suffering). I know everyone one here is going through their own pain that I can't even begin to understand and so sorry! It hurts when we ask God 'why' and all we hear is silence. But I truly do believe that there is a God and have seen it for myself and seen other testimonies of His existence. He does love His creation and I hope that you might ask/invite Him into your life instead of ctb if that is what you are thinking about. I'm trying to do that myself because I get so low sometimes but I'm still seeking trust in God over the alternative. I hope this message will encourage you that you aren't alone even when it feels like it. And you are loved which is something I have to remind myself too.
You have been posting this on a few topics. You aren't relating to the topic at all and are just copy and pasting it to a few different threads. If you really want to post your message, make your own thread. Don't spam other threads with this message. Thanks

I was a member of some obscure website once, no profit to be had messing with it, and sure enough long after I stopped using it, I found my acount name and email, with password for both, posted on the open internet along with a hundred or so others. I managed to get into that email and change it's password, as no one else bothered to despite seeing people were indeed logged into my email. I always use a throwaway email just for these things, and that time it paid off.
It is keyloggers that scare me, more than anything.

Not always. See the Mangadex hacks.

well it would have to be pro-lifers who try to hack it, and we all know there fucking useless at anything they try to do!! i mean who else would want to hack a suicide forum apart from people with a grudge over their own failures.

your average hacker just isn't going to want to hack a suicide forum, i'm pretty sure they have more interesting targets than us lot!!!

Computer hacking is a very real threat to this community. There are hordes of Super Hackers™ who are watching, right now, and are just waiting to take this site down....

While we hear about hacking happening all the time, hacking is not something that is just innately possible for anything. It literally always is because of a human made error in a system's security, and nothing else. I sometimes feel like people forget this.

Plus social engineering too. Many people lose their accounts because their information is phished from them; such as with fake websites that ask for your password, or "personality tests" on social media, et cetera.

Well it hasn't happened upto now, and the sites been around a long time. so i'm not going to worry about something that 'could' happen personally. I could get runner by a bus tomorrow, am i worried....no. I could have a heart attack tomorrow, am i worried.....no. If people worried about things that 'could' happen all the time they wouldn't be able to function, an if people are suceptable to this type of worry, i hardly think its fair to make them more anxious when there is no proof of it happening or going to happen!!!! I mean even the pro-lifers are setting themselves up if that the case aswell and they could be hacked, but they think its ok to 'risk it'!!!

I mean the people that are 'worried' about it are still here, so they can't be that arsed lmao. If people were that bothered then they could just leave, no 1 is forced to be here, its our own choices.

When it comes to hackers, I don't really care about them.
I don't really have social media and since all of my computers run with GNU/Linux, I'm very safe unless I execute something with the sudo command.

But hey, if one decides to hack me, they maybe will accept a coke and some big macs as an payment for their ransom ;)

I use Arch Linux, BTW.

I think -- could be wrong -- the worst a site a like this would suffer in that way are Denial of Service (DoS) attacks, assuming the sites Admins and Owners take the most basic of precautions. (e.g. not using "password" as a password, that sort of thing.) The sort of 1990s movie silliness of HaX0r kings using their mad 1337 skillz to take down the Pentagon or CIA or whatnot have always pretty much been the realm of fiction. Probably the most famous DoS attack is the one simultaneously carried out against Playstation and XBox on Christmas day 2014. The people behind that, to their credit, did catch the SysAdmins with their pants down, but everything was cleared up in under 24 hours. (I remember it fondly because I was trying to hook up a brand spanking new XBox One for a relative's kid, and for the life of me had no idea what I was doing wrong.)

I'm not sure what would happen if Cloudflare refused to support the site, but I do know there are sites they drop support for and this does somehow make a site far more vulnerable to DoS attacks discussed above.

Anyways, I'd think a much, much, much bigger issue would be with the webhosts refusing to allow the site's content. Simply because something is legal in the USA doesn't mean webhosts are required to support your content, after all. And most don't want any controversies. I can easily see a group like #FixThe26 pressuring webhosts to drop this site or similar.

At some point I'm guessing we'll start seeing actions against VPNs, possibly via something like China's "social credit" system effectively ending an anonymous internet. Nanny states like New Zealand and Germany are almost there as it is. And not just big government, big tech as well. I swear I read somewhere that the latest updates to the MacOS can basically override VPN functionality, but I can't lay my hands on a link. (Maybe it was their next generation of chips?) And we shall see what goodies are lurking in Windows 11, once that rolls out.

tl;dr - plenty of reason to be worried, just not IMO from the direction OP was thinking.
