Breaking things (preferably in a controlled environment such as a "destruction room").

Beating the shit out of a punching bag.

Tattooing yourself instead with a stick and poke kit.

Going for a run with music blasting in your ears.

Punching sand (it will hurt, but not to the extent of opening wounds).

drawing always helps me!
or any sort of physical activity, like rollerblading, biking, jogging, jump roping etc etc.
something that helps some people (although personally ive found it ineffective) is holding icecubes until they melt.

If it is being driven by a need to feel control, the substitution method suggested already can be helpful. Using art or althetics may also provide a sense of control.

Physical activity and journalling are both great for getting out anger / aggression / frustration. Drumming works really well too, and may be more fun.

Love this idea!

Beating the shit out of a punching bag.
When I was a kid, you could find inflatable punching bags that sat on the floor and had a weighted bottom (so they bounced back up after you hit them). Crazy to think today, but they were marketed to kids! I think Amazon still sells them.

I've heard henna can be really helpful for some people. You get to pick it off after it dries which can sate that physical component and it leaves an orange tattoo mark behind if seeing the results is a part of it for you. If you like artistic stuff you can channel that into the design and if you don't care just slap a square on.

Taking codeine!
Just kidding. Please don't do drugs as me, it leads to even more suffering than before. Best alternative for self harm is interacting with a cat! Seriously. I feel as every bad emotion fades away when I stroke a cat's fur or I play with a cat. I adore these furry cute little beans, they certainly make my life a little bit brighter.

Why not concentrate on things you would like to do with your family, things you would want to share with them, making more plans on these issues, two weeks past , and you would enjoy a happy family vacation.

-Drawing(red marker on yourself helps)
-Cleaning(one thing, not too much)
-Writing down word blurbs in a journal(great to have for future you to reflect years down the line)
-Workout(even 1 minute of jumping jacks, crunches or push ups could help your body and mind focus on something else)
