I am curious to those who are considering or wish to use this method - what is so great about jumping? how are you, unlike others, not fearful of this method?

I've considered it for a while but came to the conclusion it's a wee bit dangerous.
First, the pros:
  • Once you jump there's no going back. You can't be saved.
  • Once you land, you're hamburger meat D, E, D, dead!
  • You're guaranteed a proper exit.
  • There's no need for fancy substances like SN or N, no need to contact shady people, no need for antiemetics, no need for regimens of any kind.
  • It's sudden, it's effective, it's quick.
That's what I could come up with, in like five minutes.
Now the cons:
  • SI. Your body, specifically, "lizard brain", as my therapist calls it, WILL fight back.
  • You need to land in a very specific manner to become hamburger meat. You need to steer yourself. You're probably not a skydiver and don't know how to steer yourself.
  • There are reports of a small number of people who fell from AIRPLANE HEIGHTS and survived. One such badass had the audacity to ask for a smoke after getting up without a damn scratch.
  • There's no need for substances, yes, but you do need a building or a cliff to jump from.
  • It's sudden (relatively), yes, about... what, ten seconds of falling? Those ten seconds, however, will be the most terrifying ten seconds of your life.
For me, the cons simply outweigh the pros, the main one being finding a good enough building. I've seen some with like 50 floors still being in construction, but the ground is kinda soft. Not sure if it's too soft but kinda soft, kinda sandy, and if it fails, oh boy am I fucked big time.

I was hoping to understand how the pros override the cons for people who choose this method.
Their mind is in a different place than yours, and that's what I want to understand.

Doesn't require a lot of preparation, instant death with almost 100% fatality rate on 300ft+. The only problem is overcoming your SI.

Ah. I'm guessing they're simply out of ideas or other possibilities.

Fully agree ... SI is the biggest obstacle in jumping.it would have been my method but for SI. Guess jumping , drowning and to some extent full suspension need lot of courage coz of SI ( for me at least)

I'm jumping beachy head sometime 531ft high and it's always been my preferred method . It's on rocks also and it's basically 99% fatality. Anyone who jump off beachy head don't survive the end of the fall

Jump here. My ideal is 1,000 feet clearance below. pic below. I personally prefer rocks and concrete than water.

I really really hope I don't survive the jump, those rocks are jagged edge rocks. As you can see from the pic, rather I will free fall straight down the bottom. Or I will hit my head on those rocks and then continue fall down the bottom. Neither way, I hope I end up dead, as it is 1,000 feet. Pros from jumping.

If I somehow survive this bridge, it will be a miracle.Wish me luck, that I will end up dead once I jump. oh and I don't have a next of kin. My mom, my grandma, both dead. My toddler is also dead. I have nothing to live for. I just want my body to buried down there and decompose. Best that no one see me jump, so no one know to go look for my body below.
I still have some things to take care off, once it done I will go jump. I don't like to be known, so there won't be a good bye thread, I will just quietly go. If I stop posting/disappear then it means I succeed CTB.

As for SI, I believe my will to die is stronger than SI. Plus I will just look straight ahead and throw myself off the railing. I won't be looking way down the bottom just in case as I know 1,000 feet is HIGH.

This is my primary method. My reasons are..
-I'm scared of deaths involving drugs..
-No regime or organisation required before
-The best suicide jump spot in the UK is accessible to me.
-i like the aspect of it being a traditional suicide spot for some reason. Feeling an affinity with those who have ended their lives there before.
-when I'm in the frame of mind when I'm that desperate I'm confident I can tackle SI with alcohol/ drugs.

You can drink and eat whatever you want until the last second (or even continue drinking as you're falling if you're adventurous) so these methods always have the "I'll go out on a high note" vibe instead of the "euthanasia with strict regime" one, in my opinion. Plus you can choose pretty locations and you'll be guaranteed to have a point of view very few people have ever experienced. And it's a one-way ticket, once SI is overcame even during a split second and you get that extra push, boom it's over, no refund.

I just want to add, the chance of survival of free fall to concrete is basically like none. But the thing is, how can you make sure you hit concrete, lol.

Those who survive from fall even high distance like from airplanes, there are explanations why they survive. That woman was in part of airplane cabin break apart and fall, then it the airplane cabin part with her in it land on snow. She go protection from the cabin, and from the deep snow which soft snow.

The man fall from airplane also land on glass building that reduce the impact. Others airplane one fall but hit pine trees, and then land on wood (this is blatantly how it can reduce the impact, come on, pine trees and then wood).

There a girl climbing and fall high height but then she fall feet first, then bounce on the rock then fall, due to she climbing she probably still have those string attach to her and she hit her feet/legs multiple time as she went down, it sure reduce the impact.

All those people are plum into soft snow, woods, trees, sand etc... all those help reduce the impact.

I dunno, reading those survival stories I'm scare too. But you got to take your chance, that why I chose rocks and concrete. I don't trust anywhere have water or snow or lots of trees.

The best thing to do si to jump into water from more than 200 feet... You'l be probably killed at the impact, if not, you'll pass out and you'll be drowned !

I just don't like jumping. I don't like rollercoasters either. It's indeed a very quick way of dying.

I considered it, I find it attractive mainly because it's just a split second decision and you can't take it back. You should be able to come up with that willpower for a short time on a really bad day.

I guess all the more elaborate and peaceful methods just leave too much room for aborting an attempt and sometimes I think the blood and gore might be a little price to pay.

I've considered this mainly because the chances of survival are pretty slim. Also because it would be right on impact, if you did feel pain, it would only last a second.

That girl body hit the metal car and punch a huge dent as her body crashed down. It looks intact on the outside due to the metal dent of the car keep her body parts intact (as if it was concrete it be in pieces). But here the quote in the news: [[ According to reports she essentially "fell apart" when they moved her body. Her insides were basically liquefied. ]]

Yeah, basically when they get her body out of the metal car, yeah, her bodies fell apart to pieces.

Neither way, it dead.

I don't want to look pretty when I die, I want to crush into pieces and let my body decompose down there 1,000 feet under.

Anyways, I found this in bestgore. This guy jump from a building, and his intestine like burst out.

No way a building can be 1,000 feet tall. OK, now I know for sure I will be dead if I jump off that 1,000 feet bridge. A building and already like this? Yeah, good luck with the tallest bridge in the whole U.S.

Welp, at least no more pain. when you already dead anyways.

------------------------------------
Eta: anddd I found the building by Google based on 8th and Hope tower in Los Angeles, it is 22 stories high tower. Yeah, no. no 22 stories building are one thousand feet tall. If that guy die jump 22 stories hight. No chance you survive 1,000 feet free fall.
So anyone want the jump CTB method, aim for at least one thousand feet clearance below and safe chance you be dead. If I'm going to die, I will make sure I will die instead of end up in a coma and paralyze, you got to aim for something as high as you can when it come to jumping.

@Roger
woops worry English is my third language. I mean "apartments" buidling where humans rent and live in that 1,000 feet tall. I don't know any. Even in New York, I still don't recalls an apartment living building that 100+floors/stories high.
No idea what the Burj building in Dubai is use for, I guess for business purposes, not for rent to live. (That man who jump in the Los Angeles buildings was a rental building).

Eta: Anyways, is this Dubai place open for renting like hotel stay? If so, I wouldn't mind book an airplane ticket, go there, rent a room there, and leap out the window. Any highest height I can get to to jump is better to guarantee death.

Jumping is my preferred method.

One of the things that scare me the most about hanging and poisoning is that, in those methods, you lose consciousness before you die, and then there are a lot of things that can happen outside of your control, such as puking the poison out and such as being saved.
With jumping, however, you lose consciousness pretty much around the same time that you die, and this seems more reliable to me.

Another great advantage that jumping has over the other methods, for me at least, is the view. Many of the most famous suicide sites are also some of the most stunning places in the world.

And finally, I like how reliable jumping is, if done correctly.

The feeling of falling right before I die. They say the golden gate bridge lures people in. People from across the world go to it to die and if I could just simply get past the innate fear of jumping, I would have been dead a year ago. It's my ideal method. My top pick, my number 1 choice.
I wouldn't jump onto concrete though. Not a shot in hell. The golden gate or the coranado. That's it

Fo me, i've tried many things and I never thought i'd reach the point where jumping would be my final decision and method but, I kick myself for not doing it sooner. Once you've jumped there really is no saving you, not above a certain height anyway. That's what is pulling me to it. I've been through enough and been forcibly saved too many times. I know in my heart that beachy head will finish me and that'll be the end of that, just how I want it. Terrifying as f*ck of course but at least I know there's no coming back from this one.

A couple of things draw me to this method as a fallback plan if SN didn't work:

1) The view before you die and as your falling
2) I've always wanted to feel what its like to be a bird, to be free.
3) I love the wind rushing through me, it's like a huge hug when it's windy.
4) Its sudden, over in a matter of seconds and pretty certain you will die if you jump high enough.

Also have considered this method however, I fear injuring anyone on the ground who may happen to be walking by. Also, I'd surely make the news in this state and I don't want that.

The parking garage near me would be where I'd jump from - top level, head first. A guy a went to HS with ended his life at the garage I'm referring to, he jumped from the top level.

What attracts me to jumping is, as mother members have mentioned, it's quick and you don't need any other materials. That said, I'd probably take some Klonopin before hand.

Preikestolen or Pulpit Rock: If I were able to get there, that'd be where I'd jump from.
