Weird side effects of taking sleeping pills

Has anyone experienced weird side effects of taking sleeping pills?

I been taking nytol as i cant sleep at night due to stress and fear of the future.

When i take nytol in the night the next morning i feel even more tired and withdrawn. I cant concentrate

I feel even more depressed despite having a good nights sleep
