I want to use the plastic bag method combined with a tourniquet however, I also have a ratchet strap, would this work well? I've tried to use a rachet strap numerous times but never went unconscious my head got super tight, felt like it was going to explode, do I actually need a tourniquet?

I'm not sure that would work as the SI kicks in with a plastic bag over one's head (CO2 causing a hypercapnic response as part of your SI) and as far as tourniquet, I'm not sure. I'm not an expert on the night night method as I too, struggled to lose conscious when (attempting) to compress my carotid arteries. It wasn't attempt but rather a test to see if I can get the right spot but I couldn't. I believe someone else on here would know more than I do on this method and give you the answer that you are seeking for.

Once the plastic bag is over your head, you'll have roughly 5 seconds before you start running out of oxygen and panic. SI will kick in, and regardless of what you wanted to begin with, you will do absolutely anything to get that bag off of your head. I wholeheartedly do not recommend the plastic bag.

As for the ratchet strap, I was told that feeling like your head is going to explode means that you don't have the right spot. I haven't managed to find it either, unfortunately.
