I wanted to buy the online version of PPH and I don't know how I missed this crucial piece of information... I also never noticed any post on this site stating you have to be over 50 years old. In fact I saw posts encouraging people to buy it for themselves to be 100% sure the information (especially the e-mails) are correct. What the actual fuck? And how the fuck is it ethical to charge the money before verifying that the person is actually over 50? They took my money and didn't give me the access. Are you fucking kidding. Ethical organization my fucking ass.

yeah I had the same issue, I sent the money and it didn't asked for an ID and then they sent a mail saying I can't buy because of my age. But I don't know if it was because my dad tried to cancel when he realized what I had tried to buy >_<

The age limit sucks, but that's probably the only reason they don't receive as much scrutiny from pro-life groups as this website does. Nobody cares about 50+ year olds already much less suicidal ones.

I paid around 100€ and they automatically refunded me for 15€ once they realized I'm only 26. It's disgusting. I feel like writing back a really nasty e-mail.

I sent them back an e-mail asking for a refund, and I very politely expressed my disappointment.

I think they made a mistake. After reading what you wrote I went to their website to do some research. They have a page called "Terms of Sale" and it specifically states how they will issue a refund if you are underage:
If a subscription is purchased in error (eg. the purchaser is under 50 years) a maximum refund of USD$80 will be available, allowing for handling and processing fees.
You should contact them again and quote their own policy listed on their website.

You're right. Nobody cares about 50 yr olds, or 40, or 30...
It sucks that they made an age limit but I reluctantly understand why. That's the line they drew to protect themselves from most liability/trouble. And to grab the biggest age group of people who are actually looking for info on dying with dignity, usually from the most common medical issues associated with the last few years of life.
My gripe here is that they don't seem to make much room for edge cases, under 50 yrs old, that don't have an obviously terminal condition, but one that will permanently physically affect their life to the point of it being miserable for that person to live in. Maybe losing function of both arms, or quadraplegia. I'm 45 and starting to look (pun intended) at a real possibility of slow, permanent vision loss. That's a big NOPE from me.

I would assume they would refund you if you pursued it but who knows? I think that Nitschke could be better for sure. It seems he may have some not so great intentions, however at least he is putting this info out there. It's not like there are tons of people supporting the right to die and doing things similar to what he is. I like the sarco even though it will cost a million dollars to die and we can't even use it.
I totally disagree with the age limit too. I can see there point of view by taking less flak for it that way but suffering is suffering damnit!
Plus it's just a book. Info is already out there, only thing is that they update methods and such. Anyone has the right to die at any time and hopefully society will eventually see this but I doubt it.

I have heard from several users here that they just provided in the website that they are over 50 but nobody checked that information, nobody asked for an ID. I had the same experience with buying testing kits for N.
