I made a thread yesterday about how my boyfriend called the ambulance on me. I tried to fool the assessor and it was almost working but my boyfriend convinced them I need to be there. I'm so, so angry and I can't comply even though I know it'd probably be easier for me. I'm absolutely furious and I'm stuck in smelly clothes. Fuck my life.

You must be so angry and frustrated because there are few things more distressing and infuriating than when people won't listen and when you feel cornered. It goes against all human instincts to have your back against the wall like that. I know how hard it is, the best thing you can do for yourself is try and focus on staying as calm as you can and try and be compliant - purely so you can get yourself out. Try and keep the end goal in your head and focus x

Can you ask to wear clothes left in the lost & found? That's what I always do in the hospital bc I tend to end up there unexpectedly/I don't want to wear my own clothes in there. I've found them to be washed. I actually got a nice Armani sweatshirt out of it that they let me take home that I wear all the time. :)

This thread has become very interesting indeed. They gave me a gown although it has now become just as stinky as my other clothes. I guess I've been sweating a lot. Thank you for the kind words, It's definitely helping.

I don't know how long because I haven't been particularly compliant. But I might have a talk with the doctor later today when I'm feeling a bit calmer and suss that bit out.

I'm very sorry to hear about that and like @JustAboutDone has said, focus on getting out as soon as possible. This is so that way you are able to have more options to ctb later on. It is very difficult, if not near impossible in a monitored environment to be able to carry out your plans. Anyways, I wish you the best and hope you are able to minimize your time in the psych ward/hospital.

Involuntary commitment is a travesty.
I agree with you fully. In addition to that, it is "unconstitutional" but the government doesn't care, the populace doesn't care, and in fact, some even try to play the ignorance card and simply just ignore civil rights by claiming that civil rights aren't valid towards an 'crazy' person.

Hi! I was finally released this afternoon after some outpatient treatment contract has been drawn up. It was a terrible experience but now I know what to expect in the public system. These people don't care about you, they just don't want to have the burden of your death on their shoulders.

My "rights" are displayed right there on the boards but every time I demanded it I was met with a bunch of security guys holding me down. At least I had the sense to demand my partner be present during assessment and discussion with the doctors so they can't tell me one thing and my boyfriend another thing.
