I know this has been discussed time and time again, and I know that there aren't any definite answers to this question, but I figured I might ask for your opinions.

I more or less have decided to ctb in the short term. I asked in a previous post about laying my head on a track close to my home where several freight trains run daily, but I understand it would be very gory and traumatizing.

I was therefore wondering what would be the surest and painless way to ctb. I live by myself so I would have plenty of time to do it without being discovered, although depending on the method I might go in a hotel room. I don't want it to be too complicated with a lot of stuff difficult to obtain (like nitrogen etc.). By reading this forum, it seems like partial hanging would be my best bet. I think I'd chicken out if I tried to jump from someplace. On the other hand, partial hanging (if done right) looks relatively "easy".

What are your thoughts? Something I haven't thought of?

I can't offer advice or help you because in the UK it is illegal to do so but my experience has been to Try night night or partial or full hanging, sometimes I can't feel it is going right and others I fear it failing and being unable to get myself out of the situation and clear everything up so I can try again. I live alone but have occasional appointments which could raise an alarm, say while I'm still embarrassingly hanging from something.

I have concluded that as I can't decide a method which I can be sure would work, jumping from a height could possibly be my ultimate method.

After reading about partial hanging and gtetting distracted by lot of otehr infor I have actually begun to think that some people who have gone with that have't actually doen what they inteded, which is compressing the carotid artery, but they have in fact compressed the vagus nerve. Compressing the vagus nerve seems to result in instant death, but is hard to do, however even though compressing the carotid artery is easy to do in the first instance, keeping the pressure on, especially with someone with ample flesh and muscle on their neck, is another thing altogether, so possible in peoples attempts to ensure ample pressure is applied they end us compressing the nerve.

But then that is all moot, because the key point is, apply enough pressure to the neck and death will occur. The important info is that depending on where the pressure is, it will result in breathing difficulties, swelling arteries and brain and head,, pain and suffocation. If I was to black out trying this way without feeling pain and swelling then I would be doing well.

This is completely my thoughts that I am just musing over. Not advice.
