my setup is an extension cord, horizontal bar, constrictors knot on the anchor, slip knot for the noose. i pulled as hard as i can and couldn't close my cartoids, what am i doing wrong? do i need a different ligature?

partial hanging is really unreliable and many people who wanted to do partial just turned to full suspension, partial can be really difficult to achieve. have you tried finding your carotids or did you just put the rope on your neck? how high was the rope? did you lean forward or pull down or what?

I'm honestly not sure if i found my cartoids or not, i feel a really strong pulsing in some spots but I've never passed out from pressing on them. i think my anchor was roughly 120~140cm high so that also might have caused problems. i just pulled away and down from the anchor.

is full suspension out of the picture? do you feel more comfortable with partial? i found out partial suspension existed from this website and before i realized how unreliable and hard it is to achieve i developed a hyperfixation on it and tried multiple times to ctb that way, no matter how hard i pulled for how long it didn't do anything each time, and (im not saying you didn't) but i had done a lot of research on it too, so i was really frustrated it wouldn't work. i turned to full suspension after realizing how much easier and reliable it is, but i think at this point im buying a gun. you should look into full suspension if you're deadset on hanging yourself, but if you're also deadset on partial, then all i can say is keep trying and i hope you get the peace you deserve♡

thank you! i also thought partial was unreliable even before i attempted, but i didn't find a high enough anchor for full suspension, so i just went with it. I'll try to look into it more and see if i can attempt with full suspension after all.

just so you know, if you do full suspension correctly you should pass out in less than 30 seconds. but no matter how you do full suspension you will likely succeed, just give yourself up to 30 minutes of alone time. only attempt if you're ready to die, because it's easier to test partial with the noose around your neck rather than it is for full. good luck!!!
