• Hey Guest,

An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.

Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.

Post bullshit positive quotes aka toxic positivity quotes.

Whenever I see a good positive quote on social media I save it and use it for my folder for desktop backgrounds to try and motivate me since I am trying to better myself but I often see some bullshit quotes that is nothing but toxic positivity and I know basically everyone on here have had it said to them in their life like "it will get better" when they have no idea of knowing that, they base it on nothing it´s just empty words and it makes it even worse when you have suffered over a decade or for some people decades but sure "it will work itself out someday". But anyways here are a few to start off with and feel free to post any you have heard.

I mean, they are made to instigate some positiveness on us.
I even feel a bit of it upon reading, but the pain is so huge its like trying to poke a giant with a stick. No damage.

Reading them just makes me pissed, but that's just me.
I always found more comfort in some positive reality: "Yeah, not everyone succeeds, no matter how much they try, but by trying you increase your odds of achieving success." Something like that.
But hey maybe I am wrong, maybe when I am 70 years I will finally achieve my success!

Well I have heard quotes like these for over 10 years and things haven´t improved all that much so at some point people should just admit you´re too late to the party. I mean what if we give it another 10 years, 20 years, 30 years. How many decades need to pass before these quotes become invalid? I wasted over 10 years being sick so my dream of partying in my 20´s with people with the same mindset making memories for life is gone so these quotes are clearly bullshit.

I don't think those quotes will change anything nor i look for them, but i don't think they're inherently bad.

Ultimately its up to us to overcome the ultimate barrier called life.

I agree empty words like that pisses me off too. And I do have over a thousand positive quotes I cycle as my background to help motivate me but they are more along the lines with the one you wrote.

To the average person they are probably good because they never experienced real hardship in life so in their mind of course they´re gonna achieve success in life so it doesn´t feel like toxic positivity to them but for people who have battled life for years or decades it´s another story, it´s a slap in the face especially when healthy blissful ignorant person irl says it to your face because they have been over there on cloud 9 all their life telling you how amazing life is because everything we ever want will just happen out of the blue it´s provocative and ignorant.

I don't like how they instill a false sense of hope, it always just turns out to make you feel worse when you realize its a lie.

They are just so insensitive to me they just dismiss and invalidate suffering, saying it gets better doesn't even make sense to me in this cruel, torturous existence where there is no limit as to how much agony one can feel and it all just leads to being tortured by old age anyway. To me existence really is an abomination, I could never see anything positive about any of this, it's all just suffering for the sake of it.

I have some alternative positivity quotes:
Every second that passes is a second less we will have to endure.
Everything you lose will all be meaningless at some point anyway.
A raindrop landing on your cheek is a sign that you should go inside to avoid the rain and reduce your suffering by a small margin.
There's lights coming towards us at the end of the tunnel.
When life gives you lemons life is having to pay the enormous cost for all those lemons.
Some people actually get inspired by these dumb quotes, you don't, so you have above average intelligence.

I so agree with this and have experienced it so many times, it gets your hopes up and gets you gitty with excitement that of course it´s going to work it sounds so logical just for that hope to be ripped away by reality and makes you feel worse than you ever did before.
In this case I mind as well open a lemonade factory then.

Imma soooooo done.......
This one I actually agree with and have saved for my motivational backgrounds but I know it´s not true for all maybe even to me I end up being gaslit. But the rest are straight up lies. Many of these quotes have the same thing in common they promise all our problems will be fixed out of thin air because god or the universe are gonna fix it for us like life is a romanticized fairytale where of course people will be cured and live an amazing life but that doesn´t happen in real life. But the one I quoted above is more realistic because it´s not a straight up lie.
