Discussion To those who failed hanging: what was the error?

Looking into the hanging method and I'm curious what some common issues are so that I can prevent them. I've read some people talk about SI so I know that is a common issue, but I'm curious what other reasons people are unsuccessful while trying to CTB using this method. Please let me know!

My rope was too stretchy and didn't hold well, so I had to push down in order to cut off my blood flow. The problem was I'd get weaker as I got closer to fully blacking out, which would lessen the pressure I could apply and bring me back.

Didn't press on the carotid artery correctly, partial. I was supposed to fall unconscious within a few seconds if done correctly but I was there for a minute and ultimately SI kicked in and I left. In that minute I started seeing black spots and kinda wheezing but could still breathe, no idea what I did compress.
