Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

Does anyone else suffer from tinnitus? My tinnitus started when I went on meds and hasn't left and is getting worse. This is just one of the reasons that I think of death on a regular basis. Has anyone found out something that helps?
peace/hugs

My tinnitus isn't terrible. It's pretty quiet but I'm a silent room it's always there. It's like a high pitched frequency that won't stop.
My main issue is pulsatile tinnitus. I have to sleep with a wireless earbud in the ear not on the pillow with a documentary playing. And I still hear my pulse. If the earbud isn't I'm just right, it's like I can also hear it bouncing of the earbud that's there to drown out the pulse in the other ear. It's exhausting, I have insomnia as well so it's all just all bad tbh
I hear the ringing in my ears very rarely, I would even say extremely rarely now.
However, I have a little bit different problem and I remember having it when I was 6 or 7.
Very very often I don't understand the person, do not recognize the speech and have to ask to repeat what they said.
I do! Constant static sound, one in a while there will be a more high pitched noise. Used to have it as a kid, stopped. Started taking seroquel, tinnitus and hearing loss. Sad times.

I took the UK version of seroquel, quitiapine. I'm not 100 percent sure but I'm pretty certain mine started after I was put on that at age 16. Took it until I was 19-20. Disgusting medication.

It truly is. Gave me all sorts of other health problems as well. I only took it for a few months and didn't even make it to the "recommended" dosage... I had to fight with the psychiatrist to have it changed. I'm sorry you had to go through that as well and so young, too.

All it did was turn me into a zombie and make me sleep like 16 hours a day. Then I constantly got shit from my family for that, which I couldn't help. Did it have that effect on you? I'm sorry to hear of your issues with it as well

Yeah, it was terrible. It made me into a zombie but I didn't really sleep with it. I've been suffering with insomnia so it was supposed to help with that but I'd still wake up after a couple hours and just feel drugged and out of it. And it gave me nerve problems and tremors. Ofc I wasn't eating much at the time so I thought it was all me but turned out to be that awful medication. Never again.

Yeh after awhile I had that. For a long time it knocked me flat on my ass though, I have insomnia too so it surprised me. However my insomnia is receptive to thing like valium, sleep like a baby on that stuff

That sounds so lovely. I miss sleeping more than 4 hours... Have you found a med combo that has been helpful overall for you, outside of sleep? I was taking Lamictal but I guess i didn't take it long enough. Also I'm pretty sure it caused additional issues... Lol.

I didn't unfortunately. I'm at uni doing a psychology master, I've got a bachelor's in Psychology as well and I honestly think big pharma don't believe in cures. Cured people don't need medication, this big pharma don't get to make money each month.
Might be a controversial view as some people do really benefit from psychoactive medication, and I'm happy for them. I've personally tried like 4 anti psychotics and 15 anti depressants and a few other niche medications and not one actually helped, just shit loads of side affects unfortunately. And in my anecdotal experience all the people ive known who've been on medication such as that have either been just as bad or a slightly stable zombie but still not so stable

Oh wow. That's really impressive! I was actually considering going for a master's in clinical social work last year but I was unsure, then my time om Lexapro triggered a manic episode. I kept taking it too unaware that it was the cause while I kept being absolutely textbook manic. Funny how things work out.
Not one helped? Eesh. Yeah, I think meds are worth a try sometimes but the side effects... Horrendous. But yeah, big pharma certainly makes a handsome profit at the expense of many.
