A few years ago I was in a very similar situation to the one I am in now. I was at rock bottom, had a very solid ctb plan and was in the stages of going ahead with it when it was discovered and I very nearly got sectioned. After that day I received a cheque for some compensation for a motorcycle accident I had,it couldnt have come at a better time.
I decided to use the money to do something I had always dreamed of doing. Ship my Vespa across the pond and ride from coast to coast. I started a blog about the whole experience talking about the mental health side of things, crippling self doubt, medications, relationships as well as planning such a huge adventure. The support I got from people for being so open and honest about the dark place I was in and how I was trying to get out of it was a real help and writing was very therapeutic.
I completed the trip,4,500 miles in 22 days on a scooter designed to take Italian ladies to the shope. I very nearly died (accidentally this time) along the way and the blog has been read by nearly 30,000 people. I also raised a whole load of money for charity. It was incredible and I would do it again if I had the time/money.
This got me thinking, maybe if I can do something similar again I might be able to drag myself out of this hole and save my life. I have a couple of ideas,I just need to think them through but it is giving me a tiny bit of something to keep my mind occupied.
