Nyt posted an article about ss and it really shows how society tries so hard to hide its darker parts. So many people blame the internet or forums like ss for all the dark stuff out there. When in reality the internet is a mirror of society. It's just bringing to light what people have been doing and thinking forever. Must be why people got away with a whole lot more before the internet than you can now.

I suppose it's more convenient for society to play the blame game rather than examine the complexity of the reasons for ctb.

Also, nyt seems to have a hard time grasping that ss is pro-choice and not pro ctb.

Ikr... They really want to just stick their head in the sand. It's easier to say people are crazy or that they're being manipulated by evil websites than to admit suicide can be perfectly rational. I remember reading a lot about people saying, well I never asked to be born so wtf do I have to stick around and I never understood that fully until now. Like fuck yes. I really did not ask to be brought into existence. Have I had some amazing times in my life that I'm grateful to have experienced? Yeah! Does it make up for being forced to exist without my permission? NO.

I have exposed some of my deepest thoughts on here that I'd never even think about telling my closest friend. I made an account to clarify some questions I had about a method I wanted to use and stuck around because I've never felt so comfortable expressing my feelings. Nyt won't include that in their article though.

This!!! I really think the world needs to change its view on suicide. I'm sure there's some culture out there that doesn't view it as negatively as everyone else does. I think there's nothing wrong with wanting to leave. Pretty sure it has to do with capitalism or something which is why it's illegal in some places. Maybe they're scared so many people with ctb that no one will be around to work. But yea I really like the idea of assisted suicide but not just for those with an illness, for anyone.

It's not that they have a hard time with it, they don't even try, because they don't care to. All that matters to them is getting more outrage clicks from the pitchfork mob.
