I've been thinking today (a dangerous preposition), I have the actual 'death' part of my plan figured out quite nicely, and I also have the post-mortem minutia largely fleshed out. But what about the 'just before', I've barely given that much thought.

In an ideal world, I'd like to set aside a week, or perhaps just a weekend and have one last hurrah, a grand adventure and one last set of memories and experiences that would ultimately lead to my final destination. I think that knowing that my bus due at the end, I'd have the capability to just enjoy and embrace the experiences I had on my adventure, and I think that it would probably bring my loved ones some comfort (eventually) to know that I'd not miserably trudged along to some hotel and gassed myself on the fraying, semen-stained sheets, but rather that I was jubilant and that my final scene was looking out to nature somewhere, my final thoughts completely serene.

So with that in mind, if you had a day or two before your departure to go on an adventure, what kind of things would you do?

I don't think i'll do anything extravagant. I don't have the energy to go outside and have an adventure or what not. If anything, I might look back at some old photos and play those memories through my mind last time, but I don't have any huge plans.

It's nice you want to do something special before your final journey :)

As for me, I'm too tired and lost interest in everything. Waiting to get a tagamet with primperan and I'm out of here.

I would like to sell everything, aimlessly travel, explore and just live a little till I run out of money then permanently retire. Reality is I would get about 50 miles down the road and get stuck in a motel for months sick of pizza delivery while lacking the motivation to move. My fantasy was to find someone like me to travel and explore with but I can't find someone normally, much less for this. if I could find someone, then I probably wouldn't be the miserable old bastard I am now.

'Semen-stained sheets'? Well, it sounds like you've worked out at least one thing to do before you die! :pfff:

I'll probably just watch my favorite anime on my last day. Depending on how charitable I am and the circumstances, maybe I'd use a day or two before to spend some time with my mom. It likely wouldn't help ease her pain after the act much, but hey, the tiny twinge of optimism/hope is there.

After my last attempt 5 years ago I was very close to success that made me decide that I would do some of the things I wanted to do before I ctb. I have done some of them, I can only travel locally now, but there have been some nice places I've seen in my home country. I don't get happy I've never been able to do that regardless of what point my life was at, but I have found some peace in it by doing these little things. I don't work 9-5 but I did take a university course and I can do things so I can get money to survive. My only problem is I've taken too much time to do my own things that ctb took a back seat and now the virus means I can't do much at all. Lock down is finishing here now so I'm going to take my little car and drive some of the FH4 routes for real then see how the last year of my degree goes then I think it's time to get to the bus station.

I don't think I'll do anything special, I just want to die. I am being mentally broken too much and I no longer have the will to fight it.

I'll just pet my dogs and chickens. Probably buy them toys and treats as a little way of saying goodbye.

Same here. Although I wouldn't mind a high-end escort for the last week to hang around with haha!

Wow. I don't know. Absolutely no idea. I was thinking about nature, and taking in some vitamin D. I was once on a ladder, cutting branches off a tree, and I looked at the gorgeous sun and thought, "What a beautiful day to die, " though that wasn't my plan. I did fall and laid there, willing myself to breathe because I had a wonderful 6 year old son who was making me a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in the house to live for. Heavy freaking sigh. I'm sad now.

In my previous attempt, which was desperate and spur-of-the moment, all I wanted was a little champagne. Now, if I try again, it will be more deliberate and planned. I was thinking of going into the woods in the mountains and watching the sunset . . . with some champagne. It feels only right to have a last toast.

I will go to the beach and peacefully observe the sunset.

I would either go to an animal shelter or visit my local zoo.
