Venting There could never be anything ‘happy’ about the new year.

It's annoying how especially at this time of the year delusional people love to push their toxic positivity onto others and dismiss the cruel and harsh reality of this existence, even on this site. It confuses me why people are even on here when they see the start of the new year as being so happy and positive, I thought those types of people would be out enjoying life instead rather than invalidating suicidal people's suffering.

But anyway, the fact that a new year is about to start is an absolutely dreadful thing, where suffering is guaranteed and where so many existing beings will inevitably be tortured. There could never be anything 'happy' about this, it's so absurd and disrespectful to even suggest that and all those people in denial will just suffer more in the future. I really hate the fact that I'm still here and how I managed to exist for yet another year. 22 years of this existence feels far too long to me. I so envy those who died this year, and I really admire those who ctb this year. But the fact remains that as time goes on things will just get worse and we will all just suffer more and more so the start of a new year could never be a positive thing. In fact a new year starting is something so incredibly horrible and tragic and I really don't want to be here to see it. No amount of words could really describe how much I despise existing.

Hey, I understand how you feel. I tried to ctb exactly one year ago, on New Year's Eve, so this one-year anniversary reminds me how I failed at ctb and had to live in this fucked up world for another miserable year. However, in general I do enjoy celebrating holidays, not because I am one of those pro-lifers who is out there enjoying their life, but because it's nice to have a little bit of cheer in my otherwise gloomy life.

Hey @FuneralCry - sorry your post got jumped on by a troll. I sympathise with you. I am sat here, less than an hour til the new year, gutted that I'm here to witness another lap around the sun. The tv is blaring with a new year's special but my unhappiness is all I can concentrate on. As much as a new year can bring hope and the sense of a fresh start to some, it is crushing for those of us who feel trapped in this existence. You aren't alone in your misery, but I'm sorry you're suffering too.
