The state of the world and ctb

My main reason to ctb is because of mental health issues and issues related to that, but I'm also becoming sick of the world.

So much damage to the planet has been done because of climate change, Trump, Brexit, racism. Rich and influential people getting away with crimes because they have money and power and that's not even scratching the surface.

It seems everywhere I look I see the worst in humanity and it saddens me so much.

It's horrible because I honestly feel like I feel emotions more deeply than most people. It means I care more but also means I get hurt so much. The worlds is honestly built for emotionless bots. Agree with you on trying to numb your mind. Sending you love x

I'm not sure what makes people more or less empathetic but I would argue there is a correlation the better you view your life the less empathic you are. Pain seems to have a way to build empathy so when you lack real struggle of any kind it becomes difficult to even imagine it.

I think in general this is why we seem to see this progression.

Being empathetic is a curse I imagine life to be much simpler without it in the same way I imagine being less intelligent may also be a blessing in disguise. Sometimes being blissfully unaware seems like a dream.

Your words hit my heart, because I think I know exactly what you mean. I feel like I have some special antennas for vibes/moods/emotions. If I see sad people I feel real sadness, if somebody else gets yelled at I always feel like I am getting yelled at too I cant help it. It is so bad that I am just like a cat. If some trouble is about to unfold I just leave to somewhere else because bad atmosphere/cursing/mean and evil people hurt me by just being near them or such situations. I hate when people fight and I hate it that I cant stop feeling all those damn emotions 24/7.

For me going to a place where there are a lot of people is just so exhausting for me. And the worst is when you witness some drama between two people and you seem to understand the whole situation but the two people seem to miscommunicate, yet here you are , having in theory nothing to do with it, feeling so bad in your soul. I feel that even for people I never met in my entire life before.

And you are spot on that this world seems to be built for emotionless bots. I often wish I was dumber (not saying i am a genius, just dumber than i am) and more "not-caring". I am overloaded and overwhelmed with stupid feelings arising from simply existing in this realm we call earth.

Trump could easily be re-elected, there could easily be a no deal Brexit, the scarcity of good paying jobs will get worse. The work I used to do will never come back and minimum wage, part time work will become all that there is.

Spot on. Drama tires me out just hearing about. I think I'm a HSP - even I'm more sensitive physically to stuff like touch. How nice it would be to live blissfully unaware. I read that depressed people see the world more realistically than happy people too

I want to jump at night. I really don't want to traumatize anyone with my personal problems. If it's busy I don't think I can follow thru. Worried about a kid seeing me and being the reason for PTSD. I do care about that.

I'm in the same boat. Humans can be very disgusting and nasty. And this society is very broken. I feel that on a daily base due to my transgender background. And I learned very early in school that humans enjoy to suppress others and it changed my outlook on humans forever. And nothing on this planet can ever change this again. I learned it the hard way and it wasn't nice. I'm definitely not gonna miss this world, once I'm gone - the exception is of course this forum. You people are awesome but we're all suffering from the corrupt behavior of others. We know this world is rotten and that's why so many of us want to leave. We're the losers in society, the victims, abandoned and left alone. We're the ones suffering the most because of the reckless and selfish behavior of others, because other people stamp on us. That's why they're successful and we're not. I hope this doesn't sound like empty platitudes. But look at the rise of xenophobia all over the world. The destruction of our own and only planet. The mistreatment of millions of animals every single day. You already mentioned good examples supporting your case. And there is literally nothing about this life that is holding me back. I don't know what comes after but it can't possibly be worse than this.

I'm so sorry to hear :( The world is no way near open-minded enough, and it seems with Trump it's getting worse because of that. Hate really does breed hate. Unfortunately, bullies usually win. I won't miss the world either (apart from my family) and this forum too. It's often the case in which the kindest people get knocked down the hardest. Corrupt behaviour seems like the only way to succeed, by treading on others. I completely agree with everything you've said. I get even more mad when animals are mistreated - I have a dog and he's honestly the sweetest soul (as dogs are). I'm so sorry you're suffering and wish I could give you a hug <3

I feel exactly the same! Humans are terrible, all they seem to do is consume and destroy no matter what the cost. This planet needs some kind of mass awakening/realisation to see that the way society currently "works" is all wrong! Sadly it's the 1% that have the money and the power to make positive change yet they choose to use what they have to beat us down control us.

The EU definitely isn't perfect but I just feel now the UK is in a much worse position. You're right though it's not just brexit, It's more just everything lumped in together and I've sort of had enough

The EU is heading in a very wrong direction and there are many valid criticisms but I think concepts like the EU are important and necessary in a globalized world like this. I'm rather for reformation and fixing the problems of the EU from within than abolishing it.

I probably agree. I would say the threat of right populism is too big for the EU to divide - I wouldnt want WW3. but still, the Commission is made of a bunch of disgustingly rich and powerful capitalists, with their cringy 'committees of Wise men' and whatnot. my only hope is some kind of corbynization of Europe hehe. We are many, they are few!
