This place, and the people here, are very special to me too! It's somewhat ironic that we find atleast some purpose here. But it's better to find some support rather than none.

Probably, yes. When the world shits all over your life and you end up facing the truth of things, there is invariably irony involved somewhere. But then if there are others to face that truth with you without judgement, it's entirely possible to find a strength there that you didn't know you possessed.
Some people do come here to die.
But some people come here to find the support they can't get elsewhere to help them live.
Now that says something about society that is really ironic.

A lot of users in this community are here because they are suicidal - for many different reasons. Some of them may be in a similar situation to you, and because of this, they have a better insight into what you might be going through than someone who is not suicidal. In short: Empathy.
