The only thing I truly enjoy in this life is to sleep.
Because it gives me a mometarily relief from my nightmarish life and allows me to momentarily escspe from my problems and stress and worry and bad emotions, thoughts and feelings.
It's like a mini ctb every night.
The problem is that it's temporary because I wake up eventually, back to the bad thoughts, feelings and emotions and back to reality and having to interact and talk to people.

But when I ctb, in a few months, the "sleep" and relief from this fucking life will be for all eternity.

There's a reason the Greeks believed Sleep and Death, Hypnos and Thanatos, were brothers.

Like you, I exist for the times I am asleep. The only drawback is the nightmares. Hopefully there won't be any nightmares on The Bus.

No man, on "The Bus", it's a sweet, eternal, dreamless sleep.
Where you have no consciousness of anything.
No human being and no thought can make you feel bad.
No bad emotions, feelings, thoughts, worries and stress.
Eternal bliss.

I was "asleep" for 13.8 billion years before my parents decided to wake me the fuck up. Now I can't fall back to sleep. The sleep deprivation is killing me (no pun intended).

Five hours a night, interrupted by nightmares, feels luxurious, these days. A dreamless sleep of a million years? Bliss...

I wish I could be confident one way or another whether there's anything Beyond. If it's eternal sleep, dandy, sign me up. If I'm heading for Elysium or Avalon or the like, dandy, sign me up. If I'm heading for constant re-runs of the life I'm trying to leave behind, why bother leaving? I don't want to find I have become an emotional Sysiphus.

Listen, if there is one thing no one here is going to argue about. It's that naps rule.

I like having those naps were I wake up and don't know what day or time it is. I think society needs to have a mandated nap time in the middle of the day.

I actually hate sleeping as I dream of what I'd like to forget.

That's how all my naps finish, and I feel more tired than before I had the nap!

But sorry the original thread topic - yes I know what you mean, that sweet nothingness of sleep is a highlight of my day too.

Yeah, I've mentioned it several times in previous threads so sorry for repeating myself. I haven't remembered any of my dreams in many years. It's nothingness when I go to sleep, but of course it's the waking up that's the issue.

Put me in a coma for 40 years, wake me up when I'm old and only have a year or so left. Then I'll have natural death in sleep and be at peace for eternity.

I wish I could crawl into bed and never wake up again instead of having to kill myself.

Amen.

One of my favorite books from long ago involved a character who ended his life by lighting a candle stub in a dark room and willing himself to become one with the flame. When the last of the candle burned out, he died. That always seemed such a peaceful way to go.

I read a story today about a mother who had woken up from a 27 year coma. She's obviously not going to be in a fantastic way. Id be furious.
Sleep is my only escape although dreams tease me and very vivid nightmares can be overwhelming

Yeah, sleep is the closest thing to being dead without hurting people or having to make an irreversible decision. I don't know if it's enjoyable exatly, but being unconscious is a nice way to avoid life, and provides some releif. I feel like I have lost years of my life due to depression, but being so inactive is part of what kept me alive at all.

Love sleeping, I can forget I'm alive. Don't upset or hurt anyone, then I wake up and am gutted I've got another shitty day to go through.

I feel the same … most of the time. Sometimes I have nightmares that I'm at work. :'(:'(

I LOVE those naps.:zzz::zzz: Sometime I wake up in the morning .... or noon  depending on how well I sleep.
