What do you think is appropriate to write in your suicide note? Do you think its necessary to even write one? Should you tell the truth and lay the blame on someone or do you sugar coat it?

Mitigate the damage. Do not include jokes. I believe there was even a guide to writing suicide letters somewhere.

I don't think there is an "appropriate" way to write one. A suicide note is usually someones last chance to express themselves, their reasonings, their last wishes. And I think people should go about that as they please. Just depends on what the person is going for at the end of the day.

For me personally, a note will be necessary in order to not have my loved one take any self-blame for my decision. Guilt can destroy a person and I don't want that. He deserves an explanation and my reasoning.

I see it that way - final note as my last words it is a must, and it needs to contain full truth about my actions. Good words and explanation for good people. They deserve to know why and by who. And if there is someone to blame, then he/her will be blamed. They don't care so do i.

Its completely personal and you shouldn't be concerned with what is appropriate. Write what you feel. There may well be a strange mix of sorrow, blame, love and regret.

Betrayal is a huge issue to deal with. Ending your own life because of someone else isn't the greatest reason to ctb. People don't care, there is only you to care for yourself. I suggest writing a first draft of your note, putting it aside for a bit. Then try not to dwell on it and be selfish. Just do things that please you for a while to see how that goes.

Can type your reasons if you want, then sign and date it. (Personally, I would leave special notes for my loved one(s).

I have written a note. I don't think you should sugar coat anything in there - they might just be your last words. I chose to be honest yet kind, and most importantly to assure them that there was no one who could have stopped me, and that this is a calm decision I made on my own.

Thanks for the comment. It makes sense. Betrayal is the biggest issue. I will definitely do a first draft. See how things play out and what happens when i try to put emotions into writing when I feel numb. Thanks ✌
