I just put the NSFW on because it does show patience dying. Who would choose to go out like this?

I wouldn't and that seems to be really drawn out and unnecessary suffering. I'd rather die young and still able to control my death than to die by natural causes or wither away.

Exactly! Me too. It's barbaric to force people to die ether in the hospital or hospice without euthanasia being an option.

Not having euthanasia is the worst injustice. We don't choose to be born, so we should at least have the option of a peaceful exit.

Who would choose to go out like this?

The vast majority of human beings would. Most people want to live as long as possible even in pain because this world is all they have.
People are afraid to die and people are selfish. They'd rather be a burden to everyone around them as long as possible no matter how much time, money, and energy it costs other people.

I watched 2 grandparents slowly suffer and die in a nursing home that drained their life savings and took their house. and the other 2 suffered horribly and died in hospice care.

As long as there is a buck to be made they will keep people alive as long as possible !

Mt daughter suffered a lot. While in a coma she could've passed a lot sooner.
Touchy subject.

I'm sorry to hear about your grandparents. Mine died a slow and painful death as well. I'll never understand why the majority of humans think the way they do. We are a brutal and tragic species.

The right to die should be universal yet it's hardly talked about in our sickfuck society. Even when it is, like in the case of Britney Maynard, it's forgotten about within a week. We are a delusional species.

I found this documentary to be very hard to watch. Emotions ranged from feeling sad for the ones who were suffering to anger because most of society wants people to die this way.

Stuff like this needs to be shown more. How many more tragedies will it take for people to wake up!

Nobody in their right minds would go though that torture. One seen that pissed me off the most was when that one guy was sitting up struggling to breathe. The nurse said "need me to pray for you"? That poor fella was like that for months.
