Wondering precisely how you die. The brain dies without oxygen—in what order do the other organs die?

Wld love for input from someone with a medical background.

I don't think it really matters. You're out in 15 seconds or so with no suffering, then dead in 2 minutes to 15 minutes depending on flow of gas, etc.

Brain, then heart, then liver, as they are the most susceptible to hypoxia insult. There is your answer if curious. If one of the misguided posters asking about organ donation after ctb and trying to "time" it, then forget about it.

Bov, I am unsure of the relevance of the order of organ death from hypoxia. It is, however, relevant for organ donation immediately upon brain death presuming that the organs are harvested and placed in static cold storage:
  1. Heart: 4-6hrs
  2. Lungs: 6-8hrs
  3. Liver: 12 hrs
  4. Kidneys: 24-36hrs
I hope this addresses your curiosity.
