Never particularly thought about it, it's always just been a habit of wanting to die when I was young.
I think it feels very freeing to have a choice to escape instead of waiting for things to get better but be disappointed with your own lack of effort. I wouldn't mind if I was proven wrong but life hasn't been kind to me yet.

I don't think it is "good". There's no good or bad in the absence of reason. In death there is no "I" left to reason.

It is just less painful than the current existence. Less painful can be appraised as good if you wish. I prefer to leave it neutral and just call it for what it is.

I'm a material realist though. I don't really believe in good or bad beyond utilitarian functionalism within society (e.g., rehabilitation, compensation for loss, harm reduction). In dying we kind of transcend this utility as there is no "I" left to be compensated; no harm to be prevented once we are dead.

Death is the ultimate transcendence of good and evil.

I can see all the pain coming down the road. I have felt pain which has slowly gotten worst over the past 2 years. The pain will progressively get worst.

For me it's quite literally the fact we are born as slaves to the fucking system and we will work our asses off to hopefully get a spark of enjoyment every once in a while. What we have to go through to live isn't even how it was intended as an animal species and I'd just rather not even play the game.

Alright, let's say I don't. Just so I can live several more decades of a live I don't enjoy? Doing what? Going through how much more pain? Sure, maybe some good things will come, but that's not guaranteed, and I haven't seen any of it thus far, while I've seen plenty of misery. So... I just live several more empty decades, living just for the sake of it... and then what? I get dementia, end up in some nursing home where I slowly lose my mind, or even better, maybe I get some shitty disease and die in agony.
Yeah, living an empty life just for the sake of it only to slowly lose myself and die alone anyway, just in more agony and at the hands of nature, what a great alternative! /s

1. I don't have to wake up
2. I don't have to feel like a failure
3. I don't have to deal with the high cost of living
4. I'll avoid ending up in a miserable relationship that started just because I was lonely and horny
5. I'll avoid watching my life deteriorate
6. I won't be here to see the effects of this world war on my country
7. I don't have to deal with poverty.
8. I don't have to deal with a dead end job / not being a wage slave
9. I'll have some control over my life.
10. I don't have to deal with mental illness anymore
11. I can finally be free of my thoughts telling me that I'm worthless
12. I don't have to worry about the future.
13. I can stop being a burden and inconvenience to others
14. I don't have to deal with unpleasant and unethical people anymore
15. I don't have to experience pity any more
