Those who've switched their preferred method from partial-suspension to full-suspension, what was your reasoning?

I have now set my sites on getting a gun because any sort of hanging is just too risky. But my reasoning was that partial had a very large fail rate. Countless threads on here of people who tried it and failed. Full has a relatively low fail rate but if you do fail it can have horrendous results such as paralysis. (So can partial but it seems less likely)

Hanging is no more or less risky then using a gun. Its not due to the method being inherently risky but people who think telling a friend that they are going to hang themselves is a good idea or point the gun so they just blow off their face. Any method is risky when carried out foolishly.
partial didn't work for me. guess just not enough weight.

I think for me part of it is SI. With partial hanging it was very hard not to just stand up because of Si and hard to get the positioning of the rope right in order to constrict the carotid arteries. With full suspension it's much harder to turn back from and you just need that one moment of courage, unfortunately I haven't been able to find that courage

From the things I red, full suspension seems to have a bigger risk of awful pain for a few seconds, on the other hand partial seems to have a very big failure rate.
So in a way, full appears to be much easier since one just have to push the chair away with no turning back, and in the best case scenario you probably don't feel pain for more than 10sec

I think it's a bit riskier tbh, all else being equal.
The main reason is that a gun kills you faster and thus leaves less time for intervention.

Full suspension kills fast. 7 minutes means usually brain death. With guns you better hit the brain stemm good. If someone is dedicated to either one they should know the dos and don't with their method. Hanging is the most prevalent method worldwide and has a very high success rate.
Just don't want others to read this and change their plan to something they would t really want because of fear mongering. Hanging has always been used even by prisoners , celebrities used it . It is very effective if its done right meaning don't have someone with you that could Interrupt. Sn is a method with little knowledge or studies. That shit is risky imo
But it doesn't matter choose a method and at least do some studies on it would be my advice. In the end it doesn't matter. I'll stick with hanging . But that's just me.

Okay, fair point. My intention was not to dissuade people from the method, sorry if it came off that way. I probably should have reworded what I wrote.
