That's really disappointing. I tried hanging myself with a belt for a minute but all it did was hurt my neck.

No OTC pills, and very very few prescription meds have the potential to kill you.

You can die. However, it is not a nice, reliable, nor inconsequential. Complications of liver failure, reduction of other organ function, nervous system effects, etc. If you take an overdose and you don't vomit, you're dead without medical attention. However, If nervous system is affected, then that could ultimately result in brain complications due to effects on breathing, reducing oxygen to the brain. Ultimately, a variety of things will kill you if you plan correctly.

People die of overdoses of pain medications, alcohol, all the time. The reason for not pursuing this method is due to the chance of medical resuscitation. If being honest, a overdose of any substance can kill you. It's called an overdose for a reason, it overly effects your bodily function to the extent of death if excess.

There's a reason overdoses are taken seriously to send you to A&E, and contacting poison control. From Poison Control;

"Acetaminophen is a safe and effective pain reliever when taken according to label instructions. But in overdose, it is a leading cause of liver damage and death." I'd personally trust a source that deals with this on a daily basis, and is recognized as the go to source for help in overdoses situations. There's a reason labels say, "call poison control."

OTC pills are very unreliable. Hanging or SN are the most common methods. In the USA it's usually pretty easy to get the required stuff. Look at the main megathreads for methods including co.

Hopefully you're sure that you want to die. Just don't mess around with hanging unless you're positive.

I'm here if you need someone to talk to :)

There was a case in Australia which baffled me, the boyfriend was killed by a delivery driver and she left the hospital and one report I read last year said she purchased OTC meds and overdosed and died.

I found it funny as I was researching and planning way's of ctb and a girl just pops into a local chemist and that's it, ctb. I never found her or her boyfriend dying funny I thought it was so sad and tragic.

If I can't overdose, I guess hanging is my best option. I have a belt with an extra hole punched just far enough so it chokes my neck.

Also, thanks.

I cannot advise it due to it being nearly, if not the most unreliable method of suicide. A success rate of less than 10 percent, and very very unlikely, but the potential chance of life altering complications. You'll likely be fine after being pumped, but that isn't guaranteed.

Technically hanging is the simplest if you do it right. But there is much more risk than with overdosing. If you're found before the brain dies, it's very Likely you'll be brain damaged. This includes the possibility of being quadriplegic(completely paralyzed like the guy in UK). You want to be alone for at least an hour to be safe.( it should take 8-20 min for the brain to die if done right). I just don't want you to be worse off than you are now.I'm not exaggerating either.

And no problem. It's nice to have someone to talk with. So don't hesitate to pm me anytime! I wish you the best in the meantime.

If you were attached to them, sorry to hear that. Do you remember which meds??

I wasn't attached to them but I was trying to find out which OTC meds she took so I read all the different articles it was before I new about SN, all one did say she left the hospital and bought OTC meds and overdosed and died.
