• Hey Guest,

An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.

Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.

If there was a suicide inside a hotel room (in the US) and the body was discovered by housekeeping, then the hotel calls police and they discover a few envelopes addressed to different people laid out neatly on the bed.

If there are names and home addresses on each envelope neatly set out on the bed, will the police give the notes to these special people?

Nothing electronic or "send later" emails. Just hand written notes with names and addresses on each envelope.

EDIT: Maybe even an extra note to police saying, "Please give these notes out to the people on the envelopes. Thank you and I'm sorry for this."

They will read them. Maybe pass them on, maybe not.
You could mail them but that commits you to finish the job or have a few very interesting weeks.

Does this equally goes for motels too? Also, what happens if those industries catch on to those who are personally planning to sneak in for such reasons? I'm scared my plan will be jeopardized with people doing bag checks before entering and having me be spend extra money for no reason…

The police will investigate. The hotel/motel will give them what they want.
Who checks bags? Just pay and go in. If you have a bag, that is expected.

Police think they are all powerful and will open and read the note before (possibly) passing it on.

What precisely happens to the belongings depends on the state and county the hotel is located in, because it varies in different parts of the country.

Typically the police will secure the area until a medical examiner or coroner arrives to do the investigation. The police will notify the decedent's next of kin, but they won't be investigating the case any further unless there's evidence of a crime.

The medical examiner/coroner will photograph the scene and take the body along with any personal belongings (including the letters) into their custody for futher investigation. When the investigation is complete, the medical examiner/coroner will release the belongings to the funeral home designated by the decedent's next of kin.

At that point the funeral home will contact someone from the family to come pick up the letters. Whoever that ends up being will then have to mail the letters.

Well, in a death investigation, they are all powerful. It is their job. It might look like a suicide, but they need to confirm that.
Locally a woman died due to eye drop consumption. Looked like suicide. Turned out her friend poisoned her and stole her money. That is why the police check.

They will read them but I have no clue if they will pass them on to the people that you wrote on there.

I don't mind the police reading my notes (I'm kind of expecting that). I just want to be sure that my notes get disbursed to about 3 or 4 special people. Will the police give my notes out or the funeral home?
