"suicide is selfish"

why do people say suicide is selfish? isn't it more selfish to make me stay here? never had a job because my mental illness is from childhood trauma, so I live off SSI, it's not enough to survive on my own and I feel like such a leech and a burden, but people won't let me kill myself, some will actually go to great lengths to prevent me from killing myself only to abandon me later ...why? isn't that a more selfish act?

It annoys me so much how people can genuinely believe its selfish to end your own suffering because it'll hurt the people around you when it is infinitely more selfish to keep someone suffering forever because you enjoy interacting with them.
