• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

If you think about it, the absence the existence is never negative, because once you are gone everything else is gone as well including emotions.

Even if you are the richest person on earth, it would seem illogical for such person to commit suicide because money allows for freedom and health. But the state of non-existence also means that you won't care about missing out on experiences in life.

My point is that: waking up with back pain one day due to ageing but having lived the best life imaginable is still worse then non-existence.

Do you agree?

if i had an absolutely perfect life and was presented with a button that would just instantly turn me off, i probably wouldn't press the button.
but ofcourse, there is no perfectly perfect life, it's all just theory. so in every case except the perfect one, I'd press the button. since you just stop existing, there would be no regrets or after thoughts.

tldr: yes, i agree.

No. Everything is meaningless, whatever I do, it is meaningless. I don't wanna feel anything, pain, sadness, happiness, madness. I don't wanna experience any single thing, good or bad. Death is the scary looking angel, life is the innocent looking devil.

It's ironic because countries with the best HDIs are the ones with the highest rates of suicide, lots of rich people are depressive and actively suicidal.

I know lots of them in real life.

Poor countries, specially tropical ones like my own (Brazil) have the lowest rates of suicide and the highest scores on happiness. That's why SN is cheap, high quality and legal here.

My point is that: waking up with back pain one day due to ageing but having lived the best life imaginable is still worse then non-existence

You can always choose to leave early.

I agree with your thread but not with your title. Yes, the absence of existence is not negative but, to me, this doesn't make suicide be a neutral thing. The key thing about suicide is that it prevents the future losses from happening so I'd say that it's good. If I die now, it's better than dying later as I prevented the future headaches, future pain, future agony etc. This is why I see suicide as a good thing to me rather than a neutral and why I see suicide as a preferred choice rather than a last resort

I understand, I personally only see non-existence as positive, it's all that's ideal and desirable to me but more than anything I wish I was never forced into this unnecessary existence that just causes suffering all for the sake of it and problems there was never a need for, there are no disadvantages to not existing but no limit as to how much one can suffer in this existence. I'd always prefer to not exist as non-existence would solve everything for me and save me from all future suffering in an existence that just leads to decay and death anyway where I'm just waiting to die.

+1

additionally, life is just very unpredictable; you could be on top of the world one day, and then tomorrow could very much be the worst day in your entire life. any circumstances that cause someone to choose or even consider suicide are a tragedy, but death itself isn't. agree with the title.
