Hey everyone,

I recently decided the best way to go would be simply starving myself to death. I don't give a crap about anything anymore. I don't know if there is similar topic already and my shitty phone won't let me search through the website as I would like. Also sorry if I put this in the wrong topic.
Anyway, I consider starving the best option as people won't necessary think I killed myself, I might just get weak enough and die from catching a flu or whatever. I heard it takes up to three months to die from hunger, is there any way how to make it more quick? Also how to deal with the pain? Any advices? Thank you all, love ya

Not drinking water should be much quicker than starvation. I don't know how to deal with the pain though.

Dehydration would expedite the process, but it would be more uncomfortable and possible more painful. Starvation doesn't seem pleasant though (at least imho) but I'm not going to dissuade you from it if that is your only means of exit from this world. I would say starvation combined with the cold (hypothermia) or dying of heat exhaustion (hyperthermia) would be a way to go.

Check out these threads, lots of discussion on why it's not a good idea and what can go wrong:

https://sanctioned-suicide.net/threads/starving-oneself-to-death.12051

https://sanctioned-suicide.net/threads/starving-yourself.14452/

https://sanctioned-suicide.net/threads/stopping-eating-and-drinking.12811

https://sanctioned-suicide.net/threads/stop-eating-for-3-days-pills-and-alcohol.13050

It would be extremely agonizing and takes immense willpower...I think you will find that this method is not as simple as it sounds.

Don't do it! It doesn't work as quickly as you might think. I didn't eat or drink anything for 2+ months and ended up hospitalized for 8 weeks (including 2 weeks in psych ward) and am now permanently disabled (mentally & physically) because of it.

This method is difficult to pull off if you live with parents, siblings, or roommate.

I have thought of doing this. I have gone through famine, so I can get used to hunger. But the hard part is when you live with other people who check on you. It's too obvious.

You'd have to have incredible willpower. I don't think most people could overcome the natural urge to eat if food is around. Then you've just gone through all that for nothing. Just try fasting for a couple of days. There's loads of videos on YT about it> I couldn't get through 48 hours. But I love food it's one of the only things that makes life bearable.

Agree wit this. I don't think I've heard of anyone ctb by starvation. People only die like this in non suicidal situations: survive a plane crash in the desert, die from dehydration, starvation....that sort of thing

Glad you posted this thread, I havent eaten in 3 days I am only drinking water, but not to CTB just wanted to see how it feels and to detox a bit. When I woke up today I wasnt even hungry anymore. Yesterday I was STARVING all day but I fought the urge by finding something to take my mind off my tummy. The things I do when bored...

The longest without food I've ever made it was 2 weeks, but I still was drinking water. It was because I was in a lot of physical pain from health problems, though not because I was attempting to CTB.

If you don't live at any god-forsaken place without people around, I think is nearly impossible to starve to death. It's a very slowly process (I heard that even 6 months!), well apparent for others, physicaly painful for you. Probably after few months you will be without any strenght, most time lying in bed and faster you die beacuse of kidney failure or infection than starving.

I had to go hungry for several weeks because I had no money at all. I ate nothing just drank water. I thought it would be unbearably painful, but I was unusually well, it was certainly painful and disgusting, but it turned out that starvation helps against depression and other mental disorders that I have. I don't have an appetite and I almost don't distinguish the taste of food, I eat only because of the need. For healthy people, it would probably be very painful and unpleasant, but I felt unusual relief, such a state turned out to be better than my usual state. But the most painful would be ahead, after a month of starvation, I just did not do it long enough.

Sounds like an excruciatingly painful and very slow way to go. You'll invariably attract the attention of others in the process too. Why would you want to kill yourself over many many months when there are so many quick, significantly less painful alternatives?

this would be practically impossible...SI...you would have hallucinations...a person can be without food a long time... without water hardly a day...I had this experience backpacking in Sinai dessert once.. actually I was lucky that I was not on my own....

This is probably the only option for those who are not able to jump from a height, jump under a train and hang themselves, who have no weapons, no money - even if they were selling N legally in pharmacies or there was euthanasia for everyone who wanted it, it would all be unavailable for me since I have no money (literally not a single dollar). I just don't know what else to do, I haven't had any willpower, courage, ability to make decisions, my personality and consciousness have completely died and the only thing I can do is lie all day and slowly rot alive.

I feel this...everyones like try this method or this one but the facts are they are unaffordable to some of us. Yes even cheap options are out of some of our price ranges. We are doing that bad, we are that poor.

I've decided to starve myself to death. I'm not going to completely starve, as I want to look after my animals but I'm going to start the process by doing extreme dieting.

I forgot to mention that it wasn't as painful as I thought. Halfway into the first week, my hunger pains ceased and the only thing I experienced was having little energy and dizziness. Staying hydrated made a difference, though. The dehydration would be worse than the hunger in my opinion.

Yeah water is essential, will power would not help you with that. However it is possible to dehidrate if you are suffering from a virus, like Ebola, where your body is forced to puke and crap all the time until you lose fluid and pass out.

Tried dehydrating and starving in my youth. On my fith day, I gave up... Dryness won. Sounds stupid, but yes... that's what it was like.
I started to feel different on the third day without any water and food. I had a massive vertigo on my fourth day, like I drank a lot of alcohol. Still I didn't feel anywhere near death, so I gave it finally up on my fith day. From what I've read it takes you like 3-7 days to dehydrate. That depends of course on your circumstances and daily life/activities.

Wouldn't say this is a peaceful way to go.
