Hey guys.

I´ve got this idea for CTB that I´d like to share and discuss with you.

(1) Hire a cabin/house somewhere remote, where no one is going to visit and check up on you
(2) Stop eating and drinking
(3) When it becomes a bit too uncomfortable and when the temptation to drink becomes too strong:
Chain yourself to a radiator with foot chains/handcuffs.
(4) Now you can´t back out of it. There will be no way to abort it now.
(5) You would eventually die of dehydration

What you guys think about this? Could it work?

It would work but I feel like it would be so uncomfortable as you're dying, and you'd regret doing it. I would do something faster, like shoot myself. I couldn't just sit there chained up for however long with only my thoughts. Can't escape or distract yourself, just thinking and slowly dying. Sounds like torture to me.

You will not die, and it will be painful as hell. What are you some kind of maniac masochist?

In Hinduism, one of it's branches believes that, to end the cycle of resurrection and ascend to a higher plane of existence, one must go through a process to die by it's own hand. This process is performed in a temple, on which one has to fast to death. When one is willed, and performed alongside with meditation, it can be a peaceful process. But to no small degree this is achieved due to being surrounded by monks who support you throughout the process, what I presume is a very calming thought. Beyond that, it's a matter of faith, and it giving those who go ahead with this process the will to go on with it, and the comfort of knowing that they are going to a better place.
In the end, suffering is relative to the perspective of the viewer. If you are trully willing to go for it, and if you have any reason to believe this is the best way for you, then no chains should be necessary, you should be able to endure it, or even more, to enjoy it, knowing with each day that passes that you are one step closer to eternal peace.

They would definitely die but it would take several days. I agree that it would be a masochistic way to go.

7 to 8 days from dehydration, probably longer. It'll depend upon ambient temperatures, humidity, your sweating and activity levels
It'll long, drawn out and painful. Mind you, from day 4-5 the hallucinations will start to be interesting.

As if you've not suffered enough in this train wreck of a life that you want to suffer more before you die?

This method sounds like it's straight out of a horror torture movie, but it'll confuse the people who will eventually find your body. I bet the police would at least initially think it's the work of a sadistic killer.

Sounds like the first saw movie kinda. This would work. Keep like books or something near by to keep your mind occupied. Starving does suck. I went over a week and had severe dehydration. Er visit later It still took me a month to bounce back. I kinda wonder how much longer it would have taken. I managed to pass it all off as stress.

Terrible way to die. The good news is, if no one shows up to "rescue" you, it'll be a success. That's the only good news I can think of concerning this method.

But even they do not know if there is a better place. There are things that make me want to believe there is. As an engineer one the thing that gives me hope is the universe. The Law of Conservation of Mass states: Matter cannot be created or destroyed. So where the did matter originate from? How did life get created? From matter going to the randomness that created life blows my mind, this goes to the concept of entropy.

So that gives me hope but at the same time I don't want to go to a heaven or nirvana where everything is perfect. Kind of like the first Matrix where Mr. Anderson explained that during the first matrix where the computers and bots tried to create a utopia, yet they had mass deaths because people couldn't handle things being perfect. We as humans need adversity; contrast without evil we cannot appreciate good, without "physically ugly people" beautiful people would not be so revered and be models, actors, etc. I don't want to go to a perfect place; I just wish my brain would let me enjoy this world because it is a pretty spectacular place despite it's shortcomings.

That is why I am still here too afraid to live anymore and too afraid to die; besides missing my grandma who is 100 and I think one of the few family members that ever supported me and I haven't seen her in almost 4 years. Missed her 100th birthday because my dad said I was unfit to visit. I have terribly intrusive thoughts, C-PTSD, anxiety, mdd, severe agoraphobia and some other stuff. I think what's keeping me here is the hope to see her one last time. Then N here we come. This is the most I've typed and coherent I've been since psych-meds (not my choice) and alcohol (my choice) have rendered me pretty much retarded. Thanks to anyone who reads this. I think we are all in the same boat, some have had the courage to jump ship and the others like me are clinging on to the rails of the Titanic's stern. May we all find peace somehow.

Anyone can choose they way they want to die. This could be successful if OP is not found. Horrible but if OP wabts to end its life like this is OK. It's their choice. I wouldn't do it.

Indeed. It is reassuring, a strong reminder to suffering is relative to the perspective of the observer, that when you realize that suffering is temporary, but that in the end, peace is eternal, this knowledge will sooth you, it will relax you, and give you peace, even on this life.

Some of the stuff that comes up here, piranhas, concrete shoes, coronavirus...
This sounds like a horrendous way to die, most people are seeking peace and comfort in their final moments. This method sounds like unnecessary agony.
Unless of course one could be looking for the death they feel they deserve, as opposed to the one they need in which case, torturing oneself to death might be just the trick...
Would it work, yes but make sure you toss the cuff keys and the cell phone out and hope that the cabin isn't checked on by housekeeping (3 agonising days to die of thirst) or broken in to by opportunistic thieving rapists, in which case your death will be even more brutal that originally intended.

Some of your plan sounds good! the being out in nature, with a cabin:) I take care of hospice clients. Many people without chains just loose their appetite in the end- whether it's by freewill, illness, or both; perhaps you could at least lay on a soft mattress with a comfortable blanket ...I hope you find your peace.
