lately i took a full day offline not using any digital device at all. i guess it was the first day in 15 years being offline.
since then i stay each day the first 2-3 hours offline without using any digital device like a phone or computer.

so far it seems i am a bit more calm and less impatient.

would be interested if anybody of you tried that and what are your experiences with it.
or if you think that being online too much has a negative impact on you.

In the past (2+ years ago) I did take social media fasts from the website I was using the most at the time; tumblr or Twitter. Typically a month or two. Truly a great experience to detox. I found myself less agitated and more calm.

I would like to do again sometime in the future when I have more things offline to distract me.

I will try that as soon as possible, or just not talk to anyone at all but my parents at home.

i guess the point is that you don't distract yourself. i don't do much. i do a bit of housework, take a shower. but most of the offline time i don't do much.
so it also helps to somehow gets my brain "started". often i am bit too braindead in the morning but so i get the engine started.
in a way it has some kind of meditative quality not to flood my brain with too much information right from the start of the day.

I don't slot time to be offline but I'm not much of an electronic socialite anyway. I do go through podcasts a lot but I view those as radio/music. Dropped FB and barely go on the replacement, never did twitter, snapchat, etc but I'm also and old guy. When I'm in either an up or down swing I usually look at social media the same as TV: I've got better things to do with my time even if my time is short, or I want it to be. I see people who can't stay offline and I tend to avoid them as they always seem to have one eye on a screen and never really listen, my wife included.

I'm pretty sure I have a twitter addiction but in the past year i've been cutting down a lot of time I spend on the app. Honestly I would say that's where a lot of negativity I feel comes from- because there's so much bad things in the world or people being stupid, it eventually ends up on your timeline, and you see it and get mad/upset. So by forcing myself to do literally anything but go on twitter I think I've been feeling less like garbage lately. Which is great!

Of course one big problem is the world is so reliant on being online now, plus the pandemic, that being offline often means being alone. I don't use other social media/sites that much, so not using twitter means I don't get to speak to others at the drop of a hat. But to be honest, I think feeling that slight loneliness on occasion is better than the way using twitter normally makes me feel.

Going without technology first thing in the morning like you said is a lifehack, it makes me get things done

Social media and online stuff honestly overwhelms me, so whenever I don't have obligations to be on my phone (i.e. people from work needs to contact me), I just chuck it to the side. I still play games on my phone though haha.
