Hey, ive lurked the site for some time now felt i needed to gather more info now that ii am deadset on "ctb" as you guys say.

Ligature Strangulation:
Now i looked into this a bit it seems to be a very uncommon method for suicide despite me seeing a post here praising it for its painless exit.

1) How do you keep pressure applied on the neck when you pass out?
2) Whats are some examples of a good "Ligature" item
3) how long until you lose consciousness?
4) how long until death sets in?

Full Suspension Hanging:
This has been my go-to method since i realized i dont want my last moment to be plummeting down a tall building and because i have no access to a gun.

1) Would you say a garage door beem could support the weight of a man 6'0 tall 140 pounds? I did a little test run and it seemed too hold but im unsure if it would for a prolonged time

2) being rather skinny is this a good or bad thing when trying to stop blood flow to the brain? Will i pass out faster due to my weight / less neck fat?

3) Is a scarf suitable? I dont have any long robe so the idea is two scarfs tied to meet in the middle, one end around the garage beam and the other end in a knot around my neck

4) best knot to use?

Thank you for your time

Hopefully you get more input, but I can give you what I got.
So by Ligature Strangulation, do you mean like tourniquet or partial? Or something else? Sorry.
I know that in partial at least, you should pass out in 10-15 seconds, and die within 15-20 minutes. But stay on the safe side when reserving time.
For full suspension,
1) It's hard to say without knowing the condition of the beam, but definitely test as much as you can beforehand. Pullups, jumping pulling down, etc. idk.
2) Being skinny is generally considered good— less neck fat = less pressure required to cut off circulation.
3) Again, test test test. I know people have done partial with scarves, so if you're 100% sure it can hold your weight & the middle
knot won't come undone, it should work.
4) For around your neck? Slipknot.

Thanks for your help

From my understanding and what i read online Ligature Strangulation involves wrapping something around your neck and pulling with one hand basically choking yourself to death

Where i got confused was someone on here stated it was less painful than hanging and how would the pressure stay applied once you pass out? I assumed their was some alternate method to it or something idk

Now that i think about it i suppose it has similarities to partial because neither involve physically hanging.. The reason i never took partial as a serious method for me is it seems to have a high failure rate either people stand up or fall out of the pressure..

As far as full suspension that beam is my only hope so yeah i do need to make sure its suitable enough and maybe find something better than a scarf

I wish i could just put a bullet in my head

Thank you for your feedback

I know what you mean. For ligature strangulation, maybe look into the tourniquet method or the night night method?
