Societies view is basically, you know death, that thing no one can avoid and is infinite long compared to life? It's the worse thing ever, avoid it all cost, life is a billion times better, we will encourage everyone to do everything they can just to look younger and be obsessed with youth to the point I would get botox than save a child starving from death somewhere in the world, only those close to me matter. We will push this message with 100% confidence without even knowing what death, life, or consciousness are. If you want to die we won't let you, even if you are in immense long-lasting pain without a cure, because we should have the authority to make this judgment call for you based on emotions, inability to cope with mortality, etc. But fuck animals. It doesn't matter if your brain is developed in the same way as humans in all emotional areas etc, anything still goes.

I agree, it's infuriating to me. Not only are they too childish to confront death, they feel the need to force their nonsensical views on everyone else.

My grandma died last year—but she suffered unnecessarily for months while telling us she was ready to go. But because of this weird pro life culture, we weren't able to do as she wished.

Then at the funeral, the pastor was up there saying "she's not dead—she is moving into everlasting life in the arms of god." Her coffin was covered in flowers (the symbol of life and youth) and then put in the ground where no one will ever have to see it—as if we can keep ourselves safe from death by containing it within coffins and cemeteries.

And all this to avoid thinking about what? The fact that life and consciousness will end? By definition, there's nothing to be afraid of in non-life. I get that it's hard to wrap your mind around not existing but is it really so terrifying that you have to cling to these outmoded belief systems and force life down everyone's throats?

@Partial-Elf I'm very sorry to hear about your grandmother. :'( Yeah society is pretty much fucked up in that regard and if only assisted suicide, voluntary euthanasia was legal/decriminalized, then there would be more good than harm as a net result. People who choose to hold to the end will still be able to while the people who want to avoid suffering for more time, would have the option to be able to check out peacefully and end their (unnecessary extended) suffering.

used mymanology - own views about people and society, most often irrational and alienated from reality, based on myths, fairy tales, fantasy etc.
