My exact thought. If I have understood it correctly, it is being enforced in order to make sure that the jury has a variety of different perspectives. I have an issue with that because it puts a lot of pressure on the average person—the operative word being average.

If one feels they cannot relate to the accused, they are more likely to have judgmental opinions.

I got a summon back in June for the first time ever, and honestly, I ended up ripping and tossing it out

I've never heard of anyone getting arrested for this.

It won't. I and pretty much everyone I know does the same thing. The worst thing you can do is reply. Don't set a date and not show. But otherwise, there's no evidence you ever got the notice. It could have been misdelivered.
