I have no idea why people don't share the main SN. Source on here. Is it against the rules?

Perhaps if every member and poster on the group were in good faith, sources may be more openly discussed.
Unfortunately both media representatives looking for a story, pro life groups and individuals looking to shut down sources and distressed and grieving family and friends of those who have ctb wanting publicity to expose suppliers, all are well able to lie their way onto the Forum. Not to mention authorities who would also wish to close down sources and prosecute any of those involved. I'm not sure of the potential civil liability in various jurisdictions of the countries represented by members if an individual member was to be held legally responsible for directing a mentally disturbed person, or someone who turned out to be a juvenile, where to source SN.
It seems very obvious to me why there is reluctance to directly publish sources.

Unless someone is intellectually disabled they'll be able to find it w/out waiting for another person to give them a source.

On Sunday, i started lurking this site again after an unintentional 2 year hiatus. by Tuesday i bought the SN & i'd say my total time looking for the source between Sunday & Tuesday was 18 hours.

It's imperative for those who need it to read posts & not skim threads.

yeah, it is easy to find if you know where to look. The way we have spread information here is designed to make sure that only the people who need the information can find it and not people who were not intended to recieve said information. not just sources for sn or any other ctb method but also just the things we talk about or anything else that was meant for only the real users on this site.

Unfortunately this safe haven for everything to do with suicide or controversial topics is not as safe as we would like it to be but thats just how the world works ig.

If we mention the sources in detail, someone with bad intent may get the source shut down as it has happened before. If you look thru the megathreads there's enough clues to give you a good idea of the various companies' names
