Left side. Gravity helps your stomach drain into your intestines better that way, since your stomach's on the left side of your body. Lying on your right side can actually slow digestion.
Sorry, I meant reclining on your back. When experiencing nausea, reclining with the upper body elevated is recommended to help manage symptoms, as lying flat on your back can allow gastric juices to rise and increase discomfort. Sleeping on your side, particularly the left side, is often advised because it can help prevent acid reflux by positioning the stomach lower than the esophagus, making it harder for stomach acid to flow upward. This position may also help keep the lower esophageal sphincter above the level of stomach acid, reducing the likelihood of reflux.
