I would think that SN would dissolve better in warm water. Or even tea.
I've not seen anything about people trying this.
Is there a reason why?

I'm not sure about warm water, but with tea you have a higher change of vomiting. (Correct me if I am wrong.)

lukewarm or room temperature seem to be what most people do. not sure why though. maybe to reduce any risk factors?

I'd love to have it with tea since it is my favorite drink.

I was thinking of mixing it with a small amount of warm tea. Seems to me the chances of vomiting are quite high anyway but if i have fasted and taken an anti emetic, perhaps this will be OK

For sure don't use any forms of liquid aside from water, as it will increase the digestive fluids which will turn the nitrite into nitrate and cause more pain and potentially more vomiting. As far as dissolving the powder it really does not matter what temperature the water is considering that it is salt. I suppose at that point it all depends what temperature Best suits your body, but I assume it will taste much like drinking the ocean anyway.

that's good to hear. i measured out 25g of table salt - i don't want to open my SN until it's time to drink it - and wow, it is a large amount of salt!!! better make sure the water is as tepid as my personality.

It is a lot!! I was surprised myself. And also surprised how little 50ml of water is. It's going to be hard to drink :eh:

But don't worry about it dissolving - it's not the same as table salt.

50ml is so little, right?! i'm going for 75ml myself, maybe it'll be a bit more bearable. but then again, i've drunk and kept down worse tasting things in my short but miserable lifetime.

i haven't tried dissolving the table salt myself, but 84.8 g/100 mL at 25 °C compared to table salt at 357 mg/mL with the same temperature (which, if my meagre math skills haven't failed me, is 35.7 g /100 mL) is definitely a significant difference and something to keep in mind when experimenting with good ol NaCl before drinking SN. that's not accounting for the additives like iodine either; though they probably don't make much of a difference.

to answer OP: i don't think warm water is a good idea. salt water flushes are usually done with warm water and they can lead to nausea and vomiting... but again, SN is a different substance, so please correct me if i'm wrong.

I hate luke warm water ;-; tastes like dirty dish water. Mine will have to be at least cool, not sure if too cold changes the compound though.
