From what I've googled, Nitrite is used for curing meats. No idea how lethal but it's apparently carcinogenic at large quantities.

As for buying off amazon, no clue. Could be a trap, a scam or something dodgy who knows.

They completely removed it from there a couple years ago, so i don't know why are you seeing it.
So anyways: no, don't trust amazon.

The SN you'll find on AZ is of very very very low level purity i.e. totally unsuitable for the purpose of CTB.

Sn looks like this on Amazon. Also it says it has 98% purity.

Which country? SN won't be so easily available in most western countries.

Yeah (edited) still seemingly sells it, testing it purity will probably just require an investment in it to buy and test. It would also only ship to an address in (edited).

What about SN from fishing supply sites? They say it is used to treat fishing lines.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the last source on Amazon was taken down a while back. Minor bought it from them, CTB'd, and parent found the source.

Regarding fishing supplies, this was from an old post saying PC brand is not real SN. Use your own judgement, just fyi. "Do not buy or use Pro-Cure or Reagent-inc SN. That user failed because they used Pro-cure (PC) brand SN which is known to be a scam. There are a lot of garbage products out there masquerading as SN."

Does anyone know if there have been successes with PC or is it for sure a scam? From my research thus far it seems to be a scam.

Not sure how you found it on Amazon. I thought they'd banned it from the platform years ago. Check the purity and age of the product if you can. Purity has to be >95% to be a viable method to ctb

Another member here tested it, and it seemed to be nitrAte rather than nitrite based in the results. 😞The jar also was not sealed at all, it just has a screw on top, and from my understanding SN needs to be sealed in an air tight container. I am so sorry for the disappointing info, I too was so hopeful upon ordering the PC SN. 😞😞

Thanks, could you please link that thread?

I recall seeing a test where people suggested it was possible that the nitrAte results and possibly failed attempts could just be due to that insufficient seal oxidizing the stuff towards the top of the jar. I'm just curious if the PC SN is real SN packaged poorly, since the target consumer for this brand doesn't care all that much, or actually mislabeled nitrAte. I don't know anything about chemistry but I figure most people probably take samples for tests/attempts right from the top so I'm wondering if, depending on the age of the jar, there is still usable/real SN in there.

I want to emphasize that I don't want anyone to get sick so I'm not advising people just wing it and try stuff from the bottom, and I don't plan to either. I will probably test from the bottom of the jar, and only then maybe consider using SN, as my method has since changed.
