SN arrived a little warm

Probably. I don't think inorganic salts change composition until hotter. I don't know the specifics, so I could be wrong. I'm just going off the intuition I've been accumulating over 13 years of part-time chemistry study.

Bumping in case someone has something to add. I know Stan said it can survive across all climates, but I'm worried because it gets extremely hot here and was cramped in a mailbox for about 5 hours.

What I read is that it's transported across all climates, nothing about it sitting in a small mailbox. And I read it's reactive to extreme heat. I don't know if that just refers to like being in an oven, because a lot of people would call the weather here extreme heat. I know I'm probably being overly paranoid...

You have to hit a certain amount of posts/comments and be a member for a certain amount of time before you get pm privileges. Not sure about the msg count, but it was about 24 hours in time for me.

The one I saw was on amazon Nitrite Salt in cellophane bag 4 days to dispatch about £4.45 with postage not sure if this is the stuff known as SN
Never ctb with SN before
Any advice appreciated

500g is enough for 10 people, at least. Check out Stan's guide in the resource section, I was pointed to it and it seems to be the most legit source of info I've found so far.

Im not 100% sure but i think the stuff on amazon isn't the right stuff. DONT quote me on that someone else may know a lot better than me.i dont think there is a lot of SN in these products.I just checked one item and it was like 0.6% SN.

someone else might be able help better, don't like see people wasting money if I'm right!!!

My friend thank you you're right it's only 0.6% I would have drank that and for it to fail me

As a trained chemist, I can confidently say that a few hours (or days) at 40C will not affect the potency of a sealed container of sodium nitrate for your purposes.

Appreciable decomposition of SN does not occur below a temperature of 450C (840F).

Hi, what can you say about duration. How long SN in a sealed hdpe bottle lasts in a closet? Does this bottle protect against humidity and heat in a closed space?

Cause it might make it cooler. I don't know, I'm just thinking of everything that could go wrong.

My sealed SN will probably also arrive very hot, most packages that I've ordered arrive hot I guess because the delivery truck has a very warm temperature. Anyone knows if this can impact it?
