If you take your meds and get your blood pressure down, there shouldn't be an issue.

So I was planning on CTB in about 4 hours - should I take an amlodopine now?

depends how fast they work? is it slow release?

normal propanolol takes about 30 minutes to kick in but you have to look it up for the one you are taking. Just take some more than usual and then, if you want to make sure, you can take some more before the SN.

I'm very sad to hear this I very much enjoyed your posts on this forum in the short time you were here. If you want to PM you can send me one

I'm only familiar with beta blockers, particularly Propranolol and Metoprolol. How fast does that work for lowering? Do you have a way to check your blood pressure where you are? Unless it's super high, you might not have to worry anyway.

But honestly, if it were me, I'd postpone and get that in order and stable ahead of time instead of trying to rush tonight. Is there any reason you're in such a hurry? Have you been fasting and all that already?

When my BP hits 220/140 the hospital give me 10mg to bring it down and it usually works in about 1-2 hours. I have just taken one but I don't have my BP machine with me. I'm prob around 180/120 at the moment as thats normal and I feel normal, but hopefully the one I have taken will bring my BP down. I will take another one when I start taking the other stuff. About 4 hours yet

I have been fasting all day. Doctors haven't been able to get my BP under control in months so thats not going to happen. I can get it down and I have taken 10mg amlodopine and I will take another one in a couple of hours before I take the sn.
And yes I am on a time frame both due to circumstances and the hotel I am staying in

You should be fine then. Better not to worry too much about it, maybe check interactions between what you're taking there and the other stuff.

Has something happened today specifically?

I dont want to talk about it all over the forum - I'm sure you have seen my story. Nothing has happened particularly today, this is a long term decision but there are dates coming up which mean I need to complete CTB before then and I am in a hotel and check out is Friday and I dont want to rebook unless I really really have to for financial reasons.

I am happy to chat on PM but I have been attacked for my situation and my opinions on the forum
Can't see any drug interactions!!!

So propanolol is a potentiator of the SN method for respiratory depression to lose consciousness more quickly, and calcium channel blockers are a potentiator of the propanolol OD method.

If I go via SN, I'll be adding an OD of propanolol with 1 g of amlodipine.

So if it were me personally in your situation, and it were my choice to go now, I would take some amlodipine in advance as you have, and I would dissolve some more in the SN mix to act as a potentiator. Amlodipine in my experience dissolves quickly.

Thankyou. I've taken 10mg and will take another 10mg 2 hours following so by the time I take sn I will have taken 2 doses with at least 2 hours before the sn so they should have worked by then

That is a good sign. Where did you check?
Four or five sites on google. Drugs.com, webmd etc
Second amlodopine taken ... next up is metaclopramide but I know it gives me a racing heart as I tried the 48 hour Method and had to stop it, after 2 doses I couldn't function. Hot sweats and palpitations etc so thats why I am on the stat dose

It seems you have done your research. If you do chose to go this path .. May it be short and peaceful.

P.S. Bring popcorn for Stan :sunglasses:
