You could go to a primary doc and try for benzos. Fewer and fewer prescribe them. Even smaller chance for Ambien. One option is Seroquel (plan for 13 hour power-sleeps). A lot of them don't like that one either because the side effects can be bad at high doses. Trazadone is an option docs love to give out. I didn't like how it made me feel, but a lot of people dig it.

Most insurances don't require referrals to psychiatrists. Many are doing online visits. That could be your best bet, but it may take awhile to secure an appointment. Check psychologytoday.com.

Wow thanks for giving me this info. I have a question. When you begun taking sleeping pills before did it knock you out complexly and cause you to awake at a designated time and continue to perform your task? I just need to make these last few weeks as more sleep and less awake it needs to be as bearable as possible

Ambien was great for that. Every other drug I mentioned has a hangover period. You must be VERY judicious with Seroquel and plan to take it in advance BEFORE you get sleepy or fail to fall asleep. Plan to sleep 12-13 hours. You will still feel odd for about half of the following day, but I like it. Other people hate it, but I don't think they did the planning right. I take 25 mg and up to 75 mg. Try to take it on an empty stomach to reduce hangover. Ambien is not very effective if you have food in your belly.

And lorazepam, best two drugs for sleep if youv never taken sleeping pills before, stay away from Seroquel IMO, its a antipsychotic not a sleeping aid. Do your reaserch before buying

I hadn't taken them in a while but today my dog tragically died and I finally couldn't take it anymore so I took 6mg of bromazepam and I can feel my brain becoming mush, I'm completely numb. I'm not even sad anymore. It's also useful for end of life purposes because you get the benefits without having to face the consequences of cognitive decline. The numbness and decrease in survival instincts is what allowed me to take SN on 20th of December.

But since you live in US you could maybe get them from those online pharmacies, I don't think there's need for deep web.

Technically not the same, although they'reboth benzos. I haven't done any reading on the topic, but a psychiatrist once told me that lorazepam has a shorter half-life. I've tried both and they affect me in a similar way.

Yes, but it depends also on the dosage. With lorazepam 1 or 2mg is enough for me usually.

No problem. But if you haven't built any tolerance yet maybe you should start with 1mg. Well, actually I don't know what your reasons for taking them are.

It's an antipsychotic, but it's really not bad in a pinch at lower doses. Have you ever taken it before?

You should zopiclones then, the one your taking also pits fat into your blood, and as its a anti psychotic, it will change the chemicals in your brain, do some reaserch on it, and in zopiclone, but if your gonna CBT it don't really matter

I'm not sure I understand what you mean since all of these drugs change the chemicals in your brain. Seroquel, like other anti-psychotics, can cause movement disorders if taken at higher doses and for too long. Weight gain and diabetes too. Short-term use at a low dose is pretty low risk.

What I ment is, antipsychotics play with the chemical make up of your mind more then a pill that's designed for just sleep, zopiclone is designed for just sleep, quantipine is mainly a antipsychotic, the sleepyness is a side effect, a secondary effect of the drug, if it's sleep your after, your best finding a pill that its main use is for sleep, not a side effect, that's what I ment

I take trazodone for sleep. It's an old antidepressant that's now prescribed for sleep. I'm not sure how anyone could have used it for depression. It knocks me out in about 30 minutes.
It's not expensive to buy, you just need a prescription.
