I'm 22 and have always had mental health problems. Should I keep going or is it just pointless?

Only you can make that choice, no one can decide for you.

As JFox said entirely up to you only but you are at an age to perhaps see a light at the end of the tunnel

You decide when works for you. I cant say anything like oh at this age this or this happens, because everyones life is different. Your life is somewhat in your hands barring the random other things that come in.

For me personally around your age I would deep hang off my balconey several stories up. Maybe it was high enough to do it. I cant say for sure. It is in my mind nearly daily as in, what did I stick around for me personally.
I have no idea what keeps me around year after year. Even if technically I have some good, it is the mental illness that makes me question how many more years I can take.

Really decide for you, if you are creating a life you want to see more of. Or if your circumstances mean you want to leave. The decision is entirely yours to make whenever you want to.

22 is very young to say you've tried all the options for a mental health issue. often it's the perfect time to catch it

No one should tell you if you're too young or too old, I'm 17 dude, as for mental health, I feel you. I've had mental problems for a while, and early 2018 it seemed like I may have been able to go dependent from medications I dropped to a really low point, and well I got back on medications, until last month earlyish December was when I got off of medications, and it really does seem I'm not going back. So to answer your question, don't let anyone tell you you're too young because someone younger than you will always do it.

This is a very difficult position. Here is a thought - I hope it is helpful.

The choice to end one's life ultimately becomes a 'decision'. In other words, it is no longer a 'question'. For me, if it is still a question - there are alternatives. If there are still alternatives, one can be weighed against the other. And, one can always change a previous choice in the future - as long as he or she is living.

Only you can make that decision however I will suggest that you wait until you're sure you want to ctb as you are considering waiting a little longer anyway and that only seems logical to me.

Noone on here is able to give you a definite answer to that. Each person and their state of mind/health is different & can hardly be categorized. You might find a therapy that works for you in the next months but there's the chance you might not find an effective therapy ever; you never know. Therefore it's up to you whether you want to keep up your hope and efforts to reach that goal of a better life.

Don't compare yourself to others, or your pain to others' pain. We each have a breaking point that is uniquely our own..<3

I would say it isn't about age, it's about whether you can bear to continue living. Every day that you continue living is a day when other, unexpected options may open up, or when options you're already trying bear fruit.

If you cannot bear to continue living, then the decision to end your life becomes incontestable regardless of your age. But at the same time, don't cut things short because you underestimate the potential for the unexpected.
