Help Should i combine both methods or just do this one?

I was originally going to combine a gun and SN but I don't like how violent the gun is. I like this idea of just falling asleep and not waking up. But as silly as this may sound, I want them to know I was serious. It might look weird if I have a gun and don't use it. But the latter reason is very selfish... what are your thoughts?

Might do it tonight so I'm trying to decide soon.

Good point. I plan to take 3-5 times the LD50 of sodium nitrite just before I go to sleep, and take some very strong sleeping aids, so it should work. Definitely will be less traumatizing to my family.

Do take the meto antimetic and tagamet, or at least the tagamet if you cant wait it will make it easier. There are many threads on here for the method and to research. In any event love and peace to you on whatever you decide.

I agree with the others. I think it's best to use the SN on its own. You can always keep the gun handy if you need to use it as a backup.

I'll do that. Far less traumatizing to the family. Also like the idea of falling asleep forever as opposed to one second I'm alive, the next I'm dead.

It's silly the reason I chose a gun in the first place. I'm not a violent person so it didn't really fit me at all. But I wanted people to know I was serious. Really stupid, I know. But I've realized it'll just traumatized people and I won't care about what people think when I'm dead.

But SN seems more fitting with who I am. The most violent I've ever been was cutting myself, and I haven't done that in a while.

Just leave a note with an explanation. Apologise for whoever has to find your body or any clean-up. Or tell the truth, that you wanted to minimise harm to others.

Then there is a reason to not have used your gun.

But personally I don't think anyone will think, especially if you leave a note explaining why you made the decision you did, the time you took, etc. and literally die, that you weren't serious. And want an explanation for it, furthermore.

Do people around you minimise your suicidality right now? I hope that isn't pressuring you. And I'm sorry if it's causing you pain or harm.

Thank you. People around me aren't aware I'm suicidal, but in the past, they think my attempts were cry for helps. Tbh they were a combination of a cry for help and a genuine suicide attempt if that makes sense. But this time I'm serious about it. But yeah you're right, they'll probably realize I was serious if I took an overdose and then went to sleep. Thank you again.

I don't think that wanting them to know you were serious is a stupid reason. I felt in a very similar way many times. I mean, ultimately all that matters is how you feel (whether a gun expresses or not your decision), but there's always (or almost always) some sort of desire for others to know how you truly feel. Perhaps a gun wouldn't express it truly, but what I want to say is, the thought isn't stupid. Most of us want to leave something about who we were, and 'being serious' is part of it. I'm not saying I think you should do it with a gun... I think you need to do what suits you better. If you care about what others will see, then SN only is probably best.
