I'm not sure if it's guaranteed to be lethal or just painful. I think nearly every appliance made within the last 20-30 years is also built with safety mechanisms to make this impossible.

Lostallhope gives electrocution a 65,5% success rate. It also states that it'll take 2,4 minutes and it gives it a relatively high pain rating with 72.
Lostallhope isn't very specific though. Honestly, I think @cornflowerblue is right - safety mechanisms inside toasters (for example) are likely to make sure that you'll suffer a lot, but survive. Remember, lostallhope's stats are based on stats from 1988-1991.
