I tried to tell my mom that I'm suicidal, literally last minute in a desperate cry for help. She didn't care. She totally disregarded that and instead only cared about why I wasn't in class. And she never talked about it again or offered any help. All she did was yell at me about skipping classes

This is exactly why I need to kill myself, she really just did not care when I was sobbing on the phone,

Hopefully if I can get the tourniquet method working this weekend then this'll be it, I really hope it is, I can't live in this world anymore

I'm so sorry that you have got such a response from your mum. Whilst I haven't had a response as you have from your mum, my ex wife of 20yrs told me that my feelings were invalid and that I should be over them when i raised them. That really broke me and separated 6 months later as I realised she didn't really care about me, but more herself and what she wanted from me.

It's really sad when the people closest to you invalidate how you're feeling and understandable that you then want to exit this world.

She sounds like she has contributed to your situation and has a lot to answer for. I would not be surprised if she is somehow aware of this and cannot deal with the quilt, so her way of coping is shutting you down and ignoring your plea for help. Very selfish, I'm sorry

I am sorry, it's the worest feeling when you are rejected the love and support you deserve from the people that are supposed to provide you the most. People deal with painful news and regrate in different ways. Major one being denial, blaming you and "If we don't talk about it, it goes away" kind of attitude. There might be other ways for you to get the help and support you are looking for. Don't let any one influence you in such a decision. Wish you all the best

Obviously motherly care and empathy over their struggles;
How mothers should react when their child shows them a cry for help.

I understand. Whenever I opened up to family, ex wife, and friend, they reacted either with anger "Think about how I would feel!" or calling me selfish "Suicide is the most selfish thing you can do!" It's unreal how people who are supposed to care about you react.

All she asked me was "what am I trying to do it with" and "why" and that's it, she went right back to yelling at me about skipping class immediately afterwards and she never bothered to bring it up again

She either doesn't give a fuck or doesn't think I'm serious, which is exactly why this weekend needs to be it

I'm not a parent so I can't say but if you was my kid you wouldn't be on here. Some parents don't understand what it is to be a parent. You're hurting, I can't stop it but I care.

All she ever gives me are the same bullshit platitudes and repeats her cope of "people who actually want to kill themselves don't talk about it." I'm sure she fed the same bullshit lines to my dad before he hanged himself as well, I wouldn't know because I was too young to remember.

Thank you, I honestly feel more at peace now that I've decided on a rough date that I'll CTB, I just need to mull over which method I'll use then I'll make a post seeking advice.

Many (probably most) parents really shouldn't be parents. They're not capable of properly caring, are neglectful/abusive in multiple ways, and are brainless and simply not mentally fit for the role of being a caretaker for another person – much less bringing them into the world in the first place. People should really be forced to undergo thorough evaluation and testing before they have the right to procreate, to prevent this kind of stuff from ever happening.
