Good news. However, there was also something in you that responded. That has value. You also demonstrate gratitude that also has value as well as being fairly rare. Hopefully you can recognize within yourself that which is valuable and worth preserving.

I've always been told I should live for myself... However, I find it way easier to live for somebody else..

Might not really be a good strategy tho.
