I tied an arbor knot with a stopper knot. How does it look? Rope is 1/2 inch thick polypropylene. It's pretty flexible but has this plastic piece at the end. Should I burn the end to prevent fraying?

I burned the ends of my rope, didn't really work (or maybe I was too afraid of smoke to really burn them). Ended up making tape caps and they seem fine, rope doesn't seem to weaken except very close to the ends.

It's a good rope, the Arbor Knot looks ok.

Yes, you can burn the ends of the rope to prevent it from fraying. Be careful because it is a synthetic material; it will catch fire and melt quickly.

You can also use insulating tape (the kind electricians use) to keep the ends of the rope from fraying; it sticks well.

Is there something I can do to improve the arbor knot? I followed a YouTube video tutorial. It doesn't slide as smoothly as I thought.

It's what they recommend. Which knot would you choose?
I don't know, it's so hard to make a decision. All knots are tight and hurt. But your knot seemed strange to me. I'd never heard of it before, so I asked you, maybe it was a special way.
