Why don't adults have the right to end their life, but women have a right to end the life of an unborn baby?
In the UK, we had a crime drop in the 90's, which none of the criminology experts thought was going to happen, which tied into when abortion became legal (it began 20 something years after, when aborted criminals would otherwise have been starting their criminal careers). Why don't adults have the right to end their life, but women have a right to end the life of an unborn baby?
Exactly the same can be said for euthanasia. While abortion is about an unwanted life from the mothers perspective, euthanasia is about an unwanted life from the persons perspective that lives it. It is never good to force people into unwanted lives. That if you don't allow for abortion, you force people to have children that they dont want and/or cant afford to support, so they're born into incredibly poor circumstances, and in many cases will go on to contribute poorly to society, and lead difficult lives.
You can bridge the moral gap between pro life and right to die by ending as much suffering as possible, as the buddha taught. Though I think aboration shouldnt be completely banned, i think we should make it harder to do and also euthanize the fetuses. which would go a long way in ending suffering. Why don't adults have the right to end their life, but women have a right to end the life of an unborn baby?
