i received my SN ordered completely legally and worry free from a seller here in central europe.
i have some questions about the SN, as it doesn't have a purity mentioned anywhere, and while is says sodium nitrite NaNO2 it also says "chemical formula NaClO2"

how do i upload pictures taken with my iphone without exposing any identifying data? such as EXIF?
should i blur out the name of the company too?

since sharing sources is against the forum rules, i would blur out any source/destination information. to remove EXIF data you can try a website such as this one which allows you to upload an image and view/remove its EXIF data. congratulations on the arrival of your SN!

NaClO2 is Sodium Chlorite. I don't think that this is the correct product

here is what it says:

AZOTYN SODU
sodium nitrite
synonyms: azotan(III) sodu, sodium nitrite
chemical formula: NaClO2
nr CAS: 7632-00-0
nr EC: 231-555-9
nr Index: 007-010-00-4
nr. rej: 01-211947836-27-xxxxx

so . . . what is it?

CAS registry seems to indicate it is NaNO2: http://www.commonchemistry.org/ChemicalDetail.aspx?ref=7632-00-0
so does EC registry: https://echa.europa.eu/substance-information/-/substanceinfo/100.028.687

is the NaClO2 a typo? Seems very odd.

FWIW, the company seems legit, a no-nonsense industrial chemical provider.

Could be a misprinted to be honest, no way they should've mixed up different chemical formulas

The sn that is talked about on this forum is NANO2,maybe if you can find another one that clearly states NANO2

maybe email the supplier pointing out the discrepancy, to confirm what it is. some NaNO₂ has a slightly yellow hue that's not shared by NaClO₂.

i guess the question is, does NaClO2 act in the same way as NaNO2?

i called them. yes, there is an error on the label, they said.

"rest assured", he says, "you have received sodium nitrite".

incidentally, the back of the bottle contains the following:

Azotyn Sodu NaNO2 E250
98.5% purity

is 98.5% pure enough?

well then, there seems to be a legit, low cost (about 5 euros including shipping for a kilo), speedy and pan-European supplier of SN.
