That sounded like nonsense the first time i heard it when i was young. Now it hits so fucking hard i can barely make it through the song. Its such a beautifuly simple way to express a very complicated emotional downfall from isolation. Ive gone from being extremely social for most my life, to the last decade being a hermit, to a sprial to where im at now; alone. I havent hung out with a friend in probably 5 years. only talk online to people. See parents sometimes. People skills used to be a strong point, but i can feel how much of that part of me is gone. People do look strange. You look at people different. You feel seperated from everyone in this unexplanable way, like as soon as you open your mouth, they are going to see how fragile and out of touch you are. Wondering if you are starting to see people for what they are, or are you just find any mental coping mechaism that convinces you that no, they are the strange one, not me...I can feel myself slipping at the start of a simple and short conversation with a store employee, i almost have a panic attack just trying to keep thinking of responses before it ends akwardly.
